  • Patent number: 6828534
Abstract: The door for a microwave unit with a viewing window has a metallic door frame, two glass panes held spaced apart from each other between the metallic door frame and a fine woven fabric for blocking microwaves arranged between the glass panes. The fine woven fabric consists of thin metal fibers woven together preferably in a linen or plain weave and is in electrically conductive contact with the door frame. In order to improve observation of the interior of the microwave unit the thin metal fibers have a thickness of from 0.02 to 0.06 mm and have a spacing of from 0.09 to 0.12 mm.

Abstract: The door with a viewing window for a microwave unit has a metallic door frame, two glass panes held spaced apart from each other between the metallic door frame and a metallic screen for blocking microwaves arranged between the glass panes. The metallic screen is in electrically conductive contact with the metallic door frame. In order to improve observation of the interior of the microwave unit the metallic screen is a woven fabric of thin metal fibers, which are woven together with a predetermined small spacing. In preferred embodiments the metal fiber is steel fiber. The metal fibers preferably each have a thickness of from 0.02 mm to 0.1 mm and their opposing sides are spaced apart by about 0.12 mm in the woven fabric.

  • Patent number: 6693261
Abstract: There is now provided an electric stove with an electric stove body having an exterior comprising side walls, a top, and a bottom spaced from said top. The top has a an exterior top surface on which are disposed a plurality of electric heating elements. The electric heating elements of the top surface are controllable by control apparatus to provide heat sufficient to cook food in cooking utensils, upon such cooking utensils being placed with their bottom on a corresponding electric heating element. The electric heating elements and their corresponding control apparatus are connected by electric circuitry such that the heat produced by the electric heating elements can be set at a desired temperature for cooking food. Electric heating arrangements are also found in the stove. These heating arrangements are connected by electric circuitry to control apparatus so as to permit selection of a cooking temperature in the electric stove.

  • Publication number: 20030066825
Abstract: There is now provided an electric stove to cook food having electric heating elements to cook food, arrange with the body of the electric stove upon cooking of food with the electric stove and having a structure on the electric stove body to protect the electric stove while cooking with the electric heating elements when the electric heating elements are turned on and when the electric heating elements may be either hot or cold, the exterior of the electric stove from scratches and abrasive wear during use of the electric stove upon cooking with the electric heating elements when the electric heating elements are turned on and when the electric heating elements may be either hot or cold and an inner structure to minimize heat from the interior of the electric stove reaching the exterior of the electric stove during use of the electric heating elements to cook food. This invention is applicable to like appliances. The outer structure has a hardness which is greater than the hardness of inner structure.

  • Patent number: 6268594
Abstract: A multipane insulating glass for appliances having an inner-chamber temperature which is lower than the ambient temperature, in particular for viewing doors of refrigerators and freezers comprises at least two panes which are of approximately equal size and are arranged at a distance from one another. The distance is maintained by a spacer which runs continuously around the vicinity of the edge. One of the two outer panes is provided with an electrically conductive, transparent coating on its side which faces towards the space between the panes. In this glass, the coating, which is applied to the entire surface, is deactivated in the peripheral area of the pane, containing the contact surface for the spacer. Also, a process for producing coated flat glass materials for such insulating glass materials, as described above.
