  • Patent number: 9435502
Abstract: A solar powered sign assembly includes one or more light sources within a housing. The housing includes first and second sidewalls having inner surfaces and outer surfaces. The outer surfaces define oppositely facing exterior side edge portions of the housing. The light sources are spaced apart from each other such that the light sources extend from top to bottom along the inner surfaces of the first and second sidewalls. One or more light-transmissive signs are attachable to the housing so as to extend across a front and/or back portion of the housing to thereby receive light from the light sources and allow at least some of the light to pass therethrough. One or more solar panels are external to the housing for collecting solar energy for charging one or more batteries. A controller is within the housing and electrically connected to the light sources and the solar panels.
