  • Patent number: 5121551
Abstract: A device for the exchangeable fastening of a probe pin or probe pin combination (3) on the probe head (1) of a coordinate measuring system is taught where a pneumatically operated clamping device is provided which between the connecting body (9) of the probe pin (3) and the mounting body (4) in the probe head (1) generates a vacuum serving as a holding force. A venting valve (8) and an electrical blocking valve (7) are installed in the vacuum line (5) between a vacuum pump (6) and the probe head (1).

  • Patent number: 4964223
Abstract: A dynamic contact or feeler head for measuring machines and for the utilization thereof in processing machines for the solution of measurement tasks. The feeler head includes a centrally inserted feeler which is deflectable in at least two coordinate directions, which is constructed so as to be tiltable about a tilting axis which is always equally distant from the feeler and always located in the same plane, and with an electromechanical, inductive or optical signal transmission.

  • Patent number: 4938083
Abstract: A mounting arrangement for the exchangeable attachment of a probe stylus or a probe styli combination on a probe for a coordinate measuring installation. The mounting arrangement is constituted from an electrically-operating clamping device with a permanent magnet and an electromagnet wherein the field from the electromagnet is superimposed on the field from the permanent magnet. A connecting member for the probe stylus or the probe styli combination is drawn through the intermediary of the clamping device against a bearing or support in the mounting member therefore on the probe which determines its position.

  • Patent number: 4660296
Abstract: A sensing head of a measuring machine comprises three straight line guiding systems for respective x, y and Z directions. For weight compensation of each single straight line guiding system, a first spring pair is arranged between a fixed beam element and a beam of the first straight line guiding system. This compensates the weight loading the first straight line guiding system. Between the beam of the first straight line guiding system and a beam of the second straight line guiding system, a second spring pair is arranged which compensates the weight loading the second straight line guiding system. Between the beam of the second straight line guiding system and a beam of the third straight line guiding system, a third spring pair is arranged which compensates the weight loading the third straight line guiding system.

  • Patent number: 4578873
Abstract: In a sensor head of a measuring machine, for at least one coordinate, a straight line guiding mechanism is provided between two base parts. Springs acting in this coordinate bring the two base parts into abutment. To achieve a slackfree, stable position of rest, a stop element with a stop face for each base part is displaceable in both directions of the coordinate, counter to the action of a spring. Both stop faces point in the same direction of the coordinate. For movement, stroke lengths are free on both sides.

  • Patent number: 4563823
Abstract: In a multi-coordinate measuring machine, a contact pin is movable relative to an upper part of a measuring head, in the X, Y and Z directions. The contact pin must be mounted so as to be displaceable from its zero position, and blockable in position in each of these directions. To simplify the construction, the mechanism for displacing and blocking the movements of the pin are combined in the form of an electrodynamic transducer for each of the three directions. The transducer is formed of a pair of aligned coils which are each associated with a permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 4535543
Abstract: A dynamic feeler head comprising a central feeler pin and suitable particularly for being used in machine tools and measuring units in workshops, has definite tilting axes in the coordinate directions x and y and is subject to definite tilting forces, and ensures well reproducible measuring movements. The feeler pin 2 is tiltable in the coordinate directions x or y about axes, which extend in a common horizontal plane and are spaced from the pin always by the same distance. The tilting axes are embodied by hinges made of leaf springs, by which five plates extending one above the other are connected to each at their side edges.
