  • Publication number: 20240123528
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for shaping a periodic structure, in particular a toothing on a workpiece, wherein a lifting mechanism lifts the shaping tool, within the working stroke, off of the workpiece for the return stroke after a machining operation, characterized by a rotational angular region of the lifting cam functionally assigned to a circumferential cam profile region of a lifting cam, the same driven to rotate by a motor, of the lifting mechanism, which circumferential cam profile region determines the engagement distance between the shaping tool and the workpiece in a working stroke portion of a stroke cycle, wherein the rotational angular region of the lifting cam is passed through a further time—albeit in the opposite direction of rotation—during the same stroke cycle.

  • Patent number: 5166427
Abstract: Acyl chlorides of the general formula ##STR1## where R is C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 -alkyl, C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 -alkenyl or C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 -alkynyl, are prepared from a carboxylic acid of the general formula II ##STR2## where R has the abovementioned meanings, and phosgene, COCl.sub.2 (III), in the presence of a catalyst adduct of phosgene and N,N-dialkylformamide of the general formula IV ##STR3## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, preferably a 1:1 adduct in excess N,N-dialkylformamide, the reaction product I being obtained by phase separation, by a process in which II and III are used in essentially equimolar amounts and the phase containing the catalyst adduct is reused.

  • Patent number: 4885530
Abstract: A device for the early detection of breaks and/or marginal wear in the cutting edge in machine tools equipped with reversible cutting plates having at least one insulated conductor path embedded in their cutting edge, with the conductor path being in communication with a voltage source and forming part of a circuit for actuating a signal to break off a machining process. The conductor path is part of an alternating circuit which is connected with the voltage source without physical contact. An induction coil disposed in the tool is able to induce a current in a circuit closed within the cutting plate itself and this current is measured by a measuring coil disposed in the tool. In some embodiments, insulated conductor paths in the reversible cutting plate are capacitively coupled with the voltage source without contacting it.

  • Patent number: 4784542
Abstract: A tool-mounting assembly includes a tool head having a receiving bore and a basic tool holder having a receiving pin that is shaped for insertion into the bore. The bore has a groove with a sloping surface and the receiving pin includes movably mounted clamping elements having lugs. The assembly also includes a clamping device in the form of a screw with left-handed threads that engage one clamping element and right-handed threads that engage the other, so that the clamping elements can be moved away from each other to force the lugs into the groove and thereby clamp the tool head to the basic tool holder. In another embodiment an axially movable push rod is used as the clamping device to force the clamping elements away from each other.

  • Patent number: 4744241
Abstract: A method and arrangement for detecting a wear limit or break in a cutting edge of a machine tool. At least two conductor paths are embedded in the cutting material forming the cutting edge, one of the conductor paths being part of a closed circuit while the other is part of an open circuit. A signal serving to break off the machining process is produced if either the conductor path disposed in the circuit is interrupted or the open circuit is closed by the creation of a conductive connection between the two conductor paths.

  • Patent number: 4357956
Abstract: A spring-loaded safety valve has a housing with inlet and outlet, a valve member mobile between open and closed positions, a valve spring urging the valve member to the closed position and having a tendency to vibrate during the operation of the valve, and vibration-disturbing element for damping the vibrations of the valve spring during the operation of the valve. The vibration-disturbing element may be formed as a damping load or a damping spring which urges a valve spindle in direction of opening of the valve.

  • Patent number: 4086054
Abstract: Concentrated, storage-stable solutions of alkylbenzenesulfonates, with alkyl chains of 8 to 18 carbon atoms, of basic dyes, in normally liquid alcohols, glycols and glycol ethers. The solutions are particularly suitable for producing waterfast prints, colorations, script and markings.

  • Patent number: 4052415
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of ##STR1## where R and A are identical or different and each is alky of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, by oxidation of ##STR2## with air, oxygen or mixtures thereof, in an acid medium at a pH of from 1.5 to 5.5, at from 30.degree. to 150.degree. C. The reaction takes place rapidly and gives a good yield of the lactone (I), which can be freed from residual (II) by a treatment with alkali. The compound (I) is used as a dye intermediate in no-carbon copying systems.
