  • Patent number: 5045271
Abstract: In the production of irregular non-woven material sheets of synthetic filaments, the warp from spinnerets is drawn off by means of a draw-off device and then deposited on a substrate. To avoid tangling of the individual filaments, they are guided along a nozzle wall formed by slot nozzles stacked on top of each other and forming a draw-off device. The slot nozzles as well as the air compressor are operated polytropically. The deposit of the warp on the substrate is accomplished by a flip-flop cross winding.

  • Patent number: 4964197
Abstract: To produce non-woven materials, endless filaments in the form of a warp are drawn off a filament draw-off nozzle to which are joined a filament offlet, a filament guide tube and a spreading extruder. An amount of compressed air under high pressure is admitted to the filament draw-off nozzle. By means of the invention the amount of compressed air at the filament draw-off nozzle is reduced and at the same time an additional amount of compressed air under relatively low pressure is admitted between the filament guide tube and the spreading extruder by means of a propelling nozzle. In spite of an additional amount of compressed air at the propelling nozzle the reduction at the filament draw-off nozzle is so large that for the isothermal compression output as a whole a considerable savings in energy of almost 30% can be achieved, and this while maintaining the important filament draw-off force necessary for the drawing of the filaments inside the filament offlet.

  • Patent number: 4917903
Abstract: For the production of decorative seams on dashboards or the like, molded of thermoplastic material by the deep-drawing method, or the like, a soft heated embossing die having a negative decorative seam is pressed briefly, at the instant of the deformation of the dashboard or the like, against the molding tool covered with the film. Elastic embossing cushions are glued into the molding tool, thereby providing that the decorative seam will have a convex curvature.

  • Patent number: 4818466
Abstract: To produce non-woven materials, endless filaments in the form of a warp are drawn off a filament draw-off nozzle to which are joined a filament offlet, a filament guide tube and a spreading extruder. An amount of compressed air under high pressure is admitted to the filament draw-off nozzle, and by means of the spreading extruder provided with Coanda shells the warp is loosened before impacting on a screen conveyor. In order to achieve as evenly as possible a distribution and loosening of the warp, slot nozzles are provided on either side of the spreading extruder, which are supplied with a reduced amount of compressed air under relative low pressure. Simultaneously, a reduction of the amount of compressed air at the filament drawoff nozzle takes place.

  • Patent number: 4818465
Abstract: A deep drawing molding process for the formation of shaped plastic elements in which a certain thickness of the thermoplastic sheet to be formed is heated to the plastic flow state while an embossed or decorated outer side of the sheet is maintained at a temperature below the plastic state by means of a cooling air stream. The plastic element producted has an undamaged decorated side and improved wear properties such that it may be used in high ambient temperature applications, such as automobile dashboards, without cracking. The apparatus for heating and forming the plastic element includes a clamping frame to hold the sheet, a heating element disposed above the sheet, a molding box below the frame, which box is provided with inlets and outlets for cooling air and the application of vacuum, and a moldign tool also disposed above said frame, which is forced through said frame and against said sheet when a certain thickness of the sheet has been heated to the desired plastic flow temperature.

  • Patent number: 4778375
Abstract: In the production of shaped plastic elements using deep-drawable thermoplastic film, a tension frame is required to clamp the film. The tension frame is formed by lengthwise and transverse frame parts, on the outside edges of which is located one angle clamp on each. The angle clamps can be actuated by means of closure levers into a releasable clamping position, in which the clamp arms of the angle clamp press with force against bottom fixing members of the frame parts.
