  • Patent number: 7226193
Abstract: The present invention in various embodiments relates to an illuminating device for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, for realizing an asymmetrical light distribution. The asymmetrical light distribution has a greater illumination depth on the vehicle's side of traffic than it does on the side of oncoming traffic.

    Filed: August 31, 2004
Date of Patent: June 5, 2007
    Assignee: Automotive Lighting Reutlingen GmbH

  • Patent number: 5462499
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for controlling the gear-shifting comfort in motor vehicles having automatic transmissions. The method provides for pressure controllers for controlling clutches affecting the gear-shifting operations of the transmission. The preset values for the torque and/or the torque curves of the clutches are stored in dependence upon the particular gear-shifting operations and the transmission rpms in a characteristic field. The actual acceleration of the motor vehicle is detected with the aid of an acceleration sensor and a very low desired acceleration is used as a guide quantity for the torque control at the clutches. The preset values for the clutches corrected by this control are stored in the characteristic field.

  • Patent number: 5201381
Abstract: A traveling speed regulating device for motor vehicle provided with a drive motor and a transmission, has a transmission control for controlling the transmission, an electronic traveling speed regulator providing a nominal travelling speed, an adjusting member acting on the drive motor and changing a moment of the drive motor in dependence on a travelling speed deviation, and a further control means releasable in predetermined marginal conditions and adjusting a traveling speed by acting on the transmission control means of the transmission. The further control is designed so that a traveling speed which is over a nominal value in connection with a position of the control member which changes the moment of the motor in a zero position when the motor applies no power to wheels are provided as the marginal conditions.

  • Patent number: 4669016
Abstract: The magnetic head has a polished contact zone in the form of a spherical segment corresponding substantially to the arc of contact of a magnetic tape. To obtain a uniform contact pressure even after abrasion of the contact zone, the ends of the latter when viewed in the feeding direction of the tape, transit into shoulders sloping at sharp angle relative to a plane normal to the contact zone. The shoulders are either straight or of a concave contour.

  • Patent number: 4600958
Abstract: For saving lateral space in a multitrack magnetic head, the connection lead paths (11, 12) run separately side by side along the outside surface of one magnetic layer (13) of the yoke and connect with the conducting strip that runs between the magnetic layers at the open end of the yoke by straps (18, 19) running around the side edges of the upper magnetic layer. Outside the region of the yoke these conductor straps are wider and are superposed one on the other, with an insulating layer between them, for lower resistance loss (see lower part of figure).

  • Patent number: 4506217
Abstract: To simplify a field plate effect speed and position sensor, particularly for association with the starter gear of an automotive-type internal combustion engine, four meander-arranged permalloy resistance tracks are located on a substrate at the corners of a rectangle, spaced, in circumferential direction, by about half the pitch distance of the teeth (2) of the starter gear. The resistances can be connected in a voltage divider (FIG. 4) configuration, or in form of a bridge circuit (FIG. 5) supplied from a constant current source (CC) to eliminate temperature variation affects, and providing alternating current output voltages within the wide range of temperature of essentially uniform level as the teeth (2) scan the sensor, a special marker tooth (10) providing an output signal of different level.
