  • Patent number: 6568722
Abstract: A motor-vehicle door latch has a housing, a part displaceable relative to the housing to release the latch, and mechanism on the housing operable to displace the part and release the latch. An actuating lever is pivotal on the housing between an unactuated position and an actuated position and a locking lever is also pivotal on the housing between a locked position coupling the actuating lever with the mechanism to displace same and an unlocked position uncoupling the actuating lever from the mechanism. Respective formations directly formed on the actuating lever and on the locking lever are directly engageable with each other for displacing the locking lever into the unlocked position on displacement of the actuating lever into the actuated position.

  • Patent number: 5810423
Abstract: A motor vehicle has a body, a door movable on the body between an open and a closed position. and a body-mounted roof channel fixedly mounted on the body adjacent and above the door. A window is displaceable in the door between a down position below and clear of the channel and an up position fitting in the closed position of the door in the roof channel. A drive including a motor in the door displaces the window between its up and down positions. A latch has a bolt on the frame, a retaining element on the door engageable in the closed position of the door with the bolt and movable between a latched position capturing the bolt and retaining the door in the closed position and an unlatched position releasing the bolt and allowing the door to moved between the closed and open positions, and a mechanism in the door coupled to the retaining element and displaceable between an actuated position freeing the element to move into the freeing position and an unactuated position.

  • Patent number: 5050410
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle locking device having a mechanical rotary connection between a cylinder core of a lock cylinder and a lever system of an associated lock and comprises a driver coupling having two sleeve bodies which are mounted coaxially to one another and, in their installed position, are positively coupled to one another with the interposition of a rotary lost motion freewheeling connection. The rotary movement of the sleeve body drivable by the cylinder core, via a rotary connection element, is sensed for the purpose of controlling an additional locking function superposed on the rotation of the cylinder core. The other sleeve body is dynamically coupled to a securing element of the lever system of the lock. In order to achieve a substantial freedom in the arrangement of the control elements, the two sleeve bodies are rotatably connected to one another and are independently rotatably mounted on a support, spaced from the lock cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4733892
Abstract: A keeper according to the invention is used in combination with a motor-vehicle door post and with a latch fork displaceable in an inward direction toward and an outward direction away from the post on closing and opening of the respective door. The keeper has a U-section sheet-metal frame having flanges secured to the door post and formed with a throughgoing passage open transversely of the directions and having relative to the directions an outer edge. An incompressible but elastomeric damper insert received in the frame has a throughgoing passage aligned with that of the frame, engages inward and outward laterally past the frame, and is formed with a groove opening inward at the outer frame-passage edge. A hard metallic abutment of mushroom section has a central outwardly flared stem snugly received in the groove and tabs outwardly overreaching and overlying the outer frame-passage edge and defining an inwardly convex surface.

  • Patent number: 4298223
Abstract: A motor vehicle door lock which includes an essentially U-shaped housing, a rotary catch, a locking pawl, and a locking button with the rotary catch being arranged in a plane parallel to the front surface ad cover plate and the locking pawl being rotatably supported beneath the rotary catch. To determine whether a door is properly locked, the locking pawl includes an actuating lever arm which projects beyond a bearing bolt with a microswitch, arranged between the rotary catch and the cover plate, including an actuating spring that selectively cooperates with the actuating lever arm in dependence upon the condition of the door lock.
