  • Patent number: 4289665
Abstract: An agent for conditioning and imparting water repellency to leather comprises a homogeneous mixture of(a) 10 to 35% by weight of a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl each having 14 to 22 carbon atoms, m is a number average from 1.0 to 1.5 and n is 2 minus m;(b) 0 to 10% by weight of non-ionic emulsifiers;(c) 0 to 3% by weight of anionic emulsifiers with the proviso that the sum of (b) and (c) is 0.5 to 10%;(d) 0 to 5% by weight of an epoxide of the formula ##STR2## wherein R' is alkyl or alkenyl having 15 to 40 carbon atoms; (e) 0 to 25% by weight of fat liquors; and(f) 25 to 89.5% by weight of water or a water-miscible organic solvent.

  • Patent number: 4281997
Abstract: Phospholipids which are obtained within the framework of protein synthesis from fermentatively produced constituents of micro-organisms may be used, following a conversion into a water-dilutable form, for example by emulsification or by a chemical modification, such as saponification or sulfonation, as greasing agents for the greasing of leather and fur skins. In this capacity they are superior to vegetable and animal phospholipids.

Date of Patent: August 4, 1981
    Assignee: Hoechst Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Kurt Rosenbusch, Merten Schlingmann
  • Patent number: 4149979
Abstract: Conditioning and water-repellent compositions containing agents for cellulose-containing textiles or leather comprising sulphonylureas of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl or alkenyl having 10-30 carbon atoms; B is a member selected from the group comprising ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms and n is 2, 3 or 4;And X is .beta.-halogenoalkyl or alkenyl with 2 to 4 carbon atoms each. Also disclosed are novel sulphonylureas per se and a method of use for sulphonylureas as conditioning and water repellent compositions.
