  • Publication number: 20080127692
Abstract: In a safety system for operating at least one electrically operated locking device of a door of a vehicle, electric opening of the locking device is inhibited dependent on sensor values which are related to the driving situation and indicate an impact. • Patent number: 6533342
Abstract: An actuating arrangement for opening and closing a hinged motor vehicle panel has a fluid drive, a control unit, and a sensor unit. The hinged motor vehicle panel is movable between a starting position and an end position, and the control unit evaluates start signals from the sensor unit and stopping the movement of the motor vehicle panel in an intermediate position. The start signals from the sensor unit correspond to current angles of opening of the hinged motor vehicle panel, and predetermined angles of opening of the hinged motor vehicle panel define certain criteria. It is possible to set at least the angle of opening of the intermediate position via the control unit.

  • Patent number: 6299234
Abstract: A hard-top vehicle is provided with a roof structure which includes a roof part and a rear-window part connected pivotably thereto. The roof structure is lowered from a closed position, in which it bears in the region of a front windscreen frame and covers the rear-passenger-compartment region, into an open position, towards the tail-end region of the vehicle, via a positive-control device. The positive control device is supported in the tail-end region of the vehicle bodywork and can be pivoted about a tail-end pivot pin fixed to the vehicle, into a folding-top compartment. The positive-control device includes at least one control element which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the roof part in the region of a roof pivot pin. In this arrangement, the control element is designed as a linkage which acts on a guide part, in the region of the roof pivot pin, with a guide rod and a main guide rod.

  • Patent number: 6041690
Abstract: A pneumatic drive unit is provided for partially opening a vehicle body part such as a trunk lid. The pneumatic drive unit includes a working chamber which in use applies pressure to move a control member which engages a contact surface of the vehicle body part. A vent channel is provided which selectively connects the working chamber with the atmosphere as a function of the position of a movable closing element of the drive unit element and contact of the control member with the vehicle body part such that when the body part is closed after a partial opening, the drive unit is ready for another control operation.

  • Patent number: 5839778
Abstract: A locking arrangement for the releasable fastening of a vehicle roof on an immovable vehicle body which part has at least one hook lock whose locking hook is displaceable between its unlocked and its locked position in the longitudinal direction. A transverse displacement of the hook end takes place during the longitudinal displacement of the locking hook causing the hook end to move between its hooked and unhooked position. Devices are provided which control the transverse displacement of the hook end which have interacting positioning devices arranged on the vehicle roof and on the vehicle body part. The transverse displacement of the hook end is controlled by a slidable guiding of the locking hook.

  • Patent number: 5649733
Abstract: In the case of a motor vehicle having a lowerable roof structure, respective roof parts pivoted into an open position, in which they release the rear passenger compartment of the vehicle, can be pivoted at least partially into a folding-top compartment in the tail-end region of the vehicle. In this arrangement, the folding-top compartment region merges directly into a trunk region covered by a tail gate. Provided between the two regions is at least one intermediate wall which can be moved into a closing-off position or open position. The intermediate wall is designed as a roller screen, a folding screen, or the like, which runs in respective lateral guides. In its closed-off position, the intermediate wall extends rearwards forming an upper boundary of the trunk region.

  • Patent number: 5507475
Abstract: An erector holds a leaf-flap in various opening settings relative to its frame, in particular for holding a motor-car hood. The erector has a continuously length-variable dynamic unit, which comprises, supported against the leaf-flap and frame, a hollow cylinder and a piston which is slidably guided in the hollow cylinder. The hollow-cylinder space is divided by the piston moved via a piston rod, into a two pressure-medium chambers which are overflow-connected, with a flow regulator being interposed therebetween. A control valve is disposed in one of two overflow ducts of the flow-regulator so that the assigned overflow duct, when the control valve is closed, is flow-blocked in both directions.

  • Patent number: 5499855
Abstract: A locking arrangement for securing a pivoting and sliding cover to a counter-structure of a vehicle body, in particular for folding hoods of convertibles, has a fastening pin which is disposed on the cover and protrudes from the rear side of the cover, a catch fastening which is disposed on the counter-structure and interacts with the fastening pin in the locking operation and an intrusion guide for the intrusion of the fastening pin into the catch fastening via a notch, mounted in front of the locking catch, on the counter-structure. To enable an auxiliary mechanism to be less expensive and more space-saving, elements which interact during the closing of the cover are deflection apparatus which butt against each other. A sliding advancement of the cover, which is maintained after the deflection apparatus are run up against, can be partially converted into transverse advancement of the cover which accompanies the axial advancement of the fastening pin.

  • Patent number: 5492374
Abstract: A separable insertion-type connection is provided for pipes. By way of an end piece having an exterior collar, a pipe can be sealingly inserted into an inserting opening of a connecting body which receives an elastic sealing ring as well as a supporting ring which, in the inserting direction, is arranged in front of the sealing ring and rests against the opening wall. The pipe can then be axially fixed in the inserting opening by a holding part which can be mounted on the connecting body. The insertion-type connection provides long service life of its sealing ring under extreme conditions. For this purpose, the supporting ring is equipped on its face which faces the sealing ring with a sealing lip which sealingly encloses the pipe end piece. As a result, it is achieved that, when acted upon by pressure, the sealing lip, independently of component tolerances, is pressed in a form-locking manner against the circumference of the pipe end piece.

  • Patent number: 5097748
Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder that locks into position has a housing (1) with at least one pressure connection (7) and a piston (3) and rod (6) that travel tight in an out of the housing. The locking mechanism comprises a piston (11) that rests against a spring (35) and a barrier mechanism (23) with a cage of balls (25) that roll radially into a locking position in a locking groove (26) and back into an unlocking position in an unlocking groove (22). The primary piston communicates with a hollow space (18) and acts on a primary participating surface (19) and the locking piston communicates with an unlocking space (13) and acts on an unlocking surface (14) by way of the pressure connection. There is a variable choke (17), which disengages after a while, beween the pressure connection and the primary space (18) in the primary piston (3).

  • Patent number: 4938510
Abstract: A locking device for a plug-in connection between a fluid pipe, provided with a shaped-on radially protruding abutment, and a connecting part utilizes a clamp, which can be guided in the connecting part, two branches of the clamp overlapping the abutment of a correctly plugged-in fluid pipe in order to secure the plug-in connection against axial separation. A guide slot, for receiving the clamp, opens along its length towards a plug-in side of the connecting part in order to prevent incorrectly produced plug-in connections, i.e. unsecured conditions, while the clamp itself is provided with a guard which can be displaced in the elongated opening of the guide slot. This guard ensures that the abutment of the plugged-in fluid pipe is either overlapped by the clamp branches, in the case of a correct plug-in connection, or remains visible above the plug-in side of the connecting part, in the case of an incorrectly executed plug-in connection.
