  • Patent number: 9339857
Abstract: The invention relates to a roll arrangement for use in metallurgical technology, comprising a roll that has a roll barrel and two roll necks, and at least one neck bushing for accommodating at least one of the roll necks in a rotationally fixed manner. A carrier element that functions as a form-locking rotationally fixed connection is arranged between the roll neck and the neck bushing. In order to increase the load-bearing capacity of the roll bearing without increasing the size of or the mounting space for the roll bearing and at the same time ensure easy assembly, the roll neck is mounted in the neck bushing with some radial play such that a circumferential cavity is formed between the neck bushing and the roll neck in the unloaded stated as a result of the radial play. In order to increase the size of the cavity, the roll neck or the inner surface of the neck bushing additionally has a concave contour or profile.

  • Publication number: 20120134617
Abstract: In a fastening system of a roller bearing, comprising a bearing unit (3) which has a roll pin (1) that is mounted in a roll pin bearing (8) therein and a threaded nut (9) that engages in a thread formed on the roll pin (1) or a tensioning anchor (5) fastened therein and fixes the bearing unit (3) on the roll pin (1), a solution is to be created that improves the self-locking anti-turn mechanism of a threaded nut holding a roll pin bearing in place. According to the invention, a bendable and movable partial section (9a) is formed on the threaded nut (9), which section can be moved, particularly bent, relative to the remaining part (9b) of the threaded nut (9) into a position creating surface pressure (15b, 16b) that acts opposite the remaining thread engagement of the threaded nut (9) in the thread.

  • Patent number: 6598448
Abstract: A cooling and lubricating device for rollers of a cold rolling mill with one or more roll stands for controlling strip tensile stress of the strip across the width by changing the effective roll barrel diameter and/or the roller lubrication with a controlled supply of rolling oil or emulsions. The supply is pressure-, quantity-, and/or temperature-controlled. Several nozzle beams are provided and assigned to individual rollers, respectively. The nozzle beams are connected to side shields of the roll housing. Spray nozzles are mounted in the nozzle beams and distributed across the entire roller width. The nozzle beams are moveable independently relative to the rollers transverse to the strip running direction and in planes parallel to the strip plane. Rotary and linear drives are connected to the nozzle beams for rotating the nozzle beams about the longitudinal axis and for moving them in the longitudinal direction.
