  • Patent number: 9882744
Abstract: A device for determining an estimated value for a mean power of the noise-signal sequence, which is superposed on an undisturbed periodic transmitted-signal sequence, determines a mean power of a received-signal sequence, which corresponds to the undisturbed periodic transmitted-signal sequence with the addition of the superposed noise-signal sequence. It then estimates an estimated-signal sequence for the undisturbed periodic transmitted-signal sequence from the received-signal sequence. Following this, a mean power of the estimated-signal sequence and the estimated value of the mean power of the noise-signal sequence is determined from a difference between the determined mean power of the received-signal sequence and the determined mean power of the estimated-signal sequence.

  • Patent number: 9816951
Abstract: In order to determine a volume thermal expansion coefficient of a liquid, a sample of the liquid is placed inside a cell of a calorimeter followed by an incremental increase of pressure inside the cell containing the liquid. After each pressure increase heat flow into the cell and volume of the liquid are measured. Based on results of the measurements of the heat flow and accounting for initially evaluated cell volume, the volume thermal expansion of the liquid is determined.

  • Patent number: 9678153
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to a switching device (4) and a measurement system (1). In the method according to the invention for determining time differences between measurement signals measured by at least two couple measurement devices (2, 3), a time basis signal is first generated for the measurement devices (2, 3). A common reference signal is further generated by a signal generator (5). The common reference signal is fed to measurement signal inputs (8, 9) of the coupled measuring devices (2, 3) via the switching device (4). A measurement signal is then fed to said measurement signal inputs (8, 9) of the coupled measuring devices (2, 3) and the time position of the measurement signals relative to the reference signal is determined in each of the coupled measuring devices (2, 3).

  • Patent number: 9291585
Abstract: A technique facilitates the monitoring of thermodynamic properties of reservoir fluids. The technique utilizes a modular sensor assembly designed to evaluate a sample of a hydrocarbon-containing fluid within a cell body. A variety of sensors may be selectively placed into communication with a sample chamber within the cell body to evaluate the sample at potentially high pressures and temperatures. The sensors may comprise a density-viscosity sensor located in-situ to efficiently measure both the density and viscosity of the sample as a function of pressure and temperature. Other sensors, such as an optic sensor, may also be positioned to measure parameters of the sample while the sample is retained in the sample chamber.

  • Patent number: 8630818
Abstract: A method and a device for determining a statistical parameter for all frequencies of a frequency distribution of signal levels of a test signal registered respectively in several observation intervals counts the frequency of the signal level of the test signal measured in each case within the respective signal-level range and at the respective value of the time or frequency raster of the frequency distribution from new within every observation interval, and buffers it for display on a display device. After every observation interval, for every signal-level range and every value of the time or frequency raster of the frequency distribution, the respective statistical parameter from the respective, newly-buffered frequency and all respective frequencies measured and buffered at earlier observation intervals is determined and buffered.
