  • Publication number: 20090072495
Abstract: A sealing system, in particular for attachment connections on flow paths for hot gases, such as exhaust gas flows from internal combustion engines, with a sealing support (3) and at least one sealing element (1) that defines a sealing plane that is located between sealing surfaces, characterized in that the sealing support (3), as a separate component, is separated from the sealing element (1) as another separate component, and in that the two components are captively connected to one another to preserve the sealing system.

  • Publication number: 20020015617
Abstract: Flat gasket with a gasket plate for placement on a sealing surface of a machine component which has at least one hole opening into this sealing surface and extending approximately at right angles to the sealing surface, there being arranged on the gasket plate at least one securing element protruding transversely from the gasket plate and being insertable into the hole of the machine component for undetachable attachment of the flat gasket on the machine component, the securing element being provided at its circumference with at least one projection so designed for cooperation with the hole that withdrawal of the securing element from the hole is thereby at least rendered difficult.

  • Patent number: 5927724
Abstract: A metallic cylinder head gasket with a pair of deformation limiters for protecting each sealing bead which circumscribes a gasket opening aligned with an engine cylinder. The gasket has at least a first cover plate, which includes the resilient beads, a shim and a ring member. The edge of the combination chamber aligned opening in the shim is displaced radially outwardly from the associated bead, and the bead is thus not aligned with the shim, and a ring member overlaps the shim in an annular region adjacent the edge of the opening in the shim to define an outer deformation limiter. The ring member extends radially inward to the edge of the gasket opening and has a region of increased thickness which defines the inner deformation limiter.
