  • Patent number: 5595111
Abstract: A transfer press or similar press installation is provided with a press frame including press supports, a press bed, and headpieces, these press parts being rigidly connected with one another by turnbuckles. The press installation includes slides and a transfer device, which are movable by driving devices. Longitudinal traverses are provided which extend along the length of at least the working stages. The press supports are arranged in front of and behind the working stages, and the longitudinal traverses are placed on these press supports. The longitudinal traverses are provided with guides which interact with guides mounted on the slides for the bearing of the slides which move up and down. As a result, a stable and cost-effective construction of the press installation is achieved while supports in the central working areas are omitted.

  • Patent number: 5551275
Abstract: A multiple stand press or similar press facility for the forming of sheet metal parts has a bedplate, several press stands, and a press slide 7 which can be moved up and down by the press drive via drive gear boxes and connection rods. Tools in progressive stations follow a drawing station. In order to be able to reduce the size of the press facility, the press slide extends along at least two stand areas, and the introduction of force takes place via the connecting rods into the press slide in the stand areas.

  • Patent number: 5375513
Abstract: A press installation that has working stages with a press frame having press supports, a press bed, a headpiece, and turnbuckles which rigidly connect the press supports, the press bed, and the headpiece with one another. The press installation has a slide for forming that extends along a plurality of the working stages, a transfer device that transfers workpieces between the working stages, and driving devices that drive the slide and the transfer device. Connecting rods link the slide without pressure points and therefore directly in four linking points. The centers of the two linking points respectively of one side of the slide and of two turnbuckles situated opposite one another in the press frame are arranged on a common line which is aligned horizontally and vertically with respect to a press passage. The slide is an outer slide, while inner slides are provided in the working stages, these inner slides being vertically slidably disposed via guides.

  • Patent number: 5001921
Abstract: A transfer device permits different moving sequences of holding devices for the sheet metal parts which are to be moved through the metal-forming machine. The holding devices are fastened to carriages. The carriages are cam-guided, in which case a first carriage carries out a transfer movement from a working stage to an idle stage while taking along a sheet metal part. The return movement is interrupted in an intermediate position during the deforming operation of the sheet metal parts. A second Carriage carries out a transfer movement from the idle stage to a working stage and a return movement which is temporarily interrupted in an intermediate stage. The vertically extending motional parts of curves are used for the picking-up and depositing of sheet metal parts in working stages; the extended lowering movement is used for the depositing of the holding devices on sliding tables which can be moved into the press.

  • Patent number: 4713961
Abstract: Workpieces are stored in idling stages of transfer presses. The support elements (14) which are to be interchanged with the work tool change are to be rotated for bridging a larger idling stage area when brought into the idling stage in the transport direction of the workpieces. Toothed racks (7) which are movable in the direction of the support elements (14) brought-in with the sliding table into the transfer press are attached for that purpose at a gripping and holding mechanism. The toothed racks (7) are adapted to be connected with a traverse (13) carrying the support elements, whereby the support elements (14) are supported at the traverse (13) by way of mounting means (15), to which a rotary movement is adapted to be imparted and which are operatively connected with a rotary drive.

  • Patent number: 4641515
Abstract: An intermediate storage in a press in which intermediate storages are to be provided within the area of idling stages thereof. The intermediate storages include storage templates matched to the shape of the bottom side of the workpieces which are adapted to be liftable in the vertical direction by way of lifting means. The lifting means may thereby act on the storage templates in the sense of a lifting movement, for example, by way of intermediate members displaceable by a motor-driven spindle, which act on the storage templates in the sense of a lifting movement by way of counter-abutment surfaces disposed at the ends of the storage templates.
