  • Patent number: 7213310
Abstract: A device for finishing woven denim textiles is described which, proceeding from unfinished goods, is supposed to be brought to predetermined reference values for finished width, skew and woof thread density. The device is supposed to be designed for continuous operation for regulating all three reference values. According to the invention, a stretching device, such as a rack or a loop dryer, and a shrinkage system for continuous throughput of the woven denim textile, are arranged one after the other. Directly behind the stretching device, particularly, at the same time, behind the shrinkage system, a single measuring device, preferably as an optical detector having a digital camera, is provided. The measuring device is designed, at the same time, for detecting the actual values of finished width, skew and woof thread density, and is supposed to be connected, in control circuits, with devices for achieving the reference values.

  • Publication number: 20060260073
Abstract: A method for dyeing a web of knitted fabric containing cellulose fibers is described. In order to achieve the result of being able to continuously dye the knitted goods containing cellulose fibers in the spread-out state, using a pad, as well as dry it in-line, in a subsequent dyeing hotflue, and fix the color, the knitted fabric is first caught along the longitudinal edges in continuously transporting stentering chains, and then transverse strips of glue are applied to the longitudinal edges, reinforcing the longitudinal edge regions, adjacent to the stentering chains. The glue is dried and subsequently the web that has been released from the stentering chains is passed continuously through the dyeing pad and the dyeing hotflue, spread out, fundamentally like a woven web of fabric.

  • Patent number: 6806957
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for plain dyeing a textile web of fabric by means of a padding mangle. The squeezing force distribution between the rollers of the padding mangles is controlled according to the dye distribution in the web of fabric which is still provided with the initial humidity on the output of the padding mangle, whereby the dye distribution is measured on certain points by means of a dye measuring appliance. Measuring the dye of the humid web of fabric is simplified and the measured result is improved when a dye receiver is used as the dye measuring device, whereby the receiver separately detects the radiation of a white light source according to pure dyes, the radiation being reflected on the web of fabric in a diffuse manner.

  • Patent number: 6582478
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparative and reactive dyeing of cellulose material. In order to shorten the process time of conventional preparing agents and continuous operation, to make superfluous neutralizing agents for removing excess peroxy compounds as well as to reduce the mechanical equipment required vis-à-vis prior art and to reduce the use of chemical agents, the cellulose material soaked with the treatment liquor is continuously dried with pulsated air at approximately the same disintegration rate as the peroxy compounds thus used. Alkali remaining in the material from pretreatment which remained in the material is used for dyefixing said material.

  • Patent number: 5885305
Abstract: A device is provided by the invention, with which it is possible to execute a method for the dye fixation in reactive dyeing of cellulose goods or cellulose fibers of all types in a dye liquor containing auxiliaries for binding the reactive dye to the cellulose fibers, wherein in an air dryer the cellulose goods which are padded with the dye liquor can be subjected to a retentive treatment of predetermined length with a predetermined steam content of the air in the drying chamber. In the device the residual moisture of the cellulose goods is maintained at a value as far as the outlet of the chamber in which the reaction of the dyestuff with cellulose fibers takes place. A defined steam content of the chamber air can simultaneously be continuously--even with light goods--regulated independently of the weight of the goods, i.e. also independently of the amount of water brought into the dryer with the goods.

  • Patent number: 5284035
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for monitoring the application of dye to a traveling web of textile material. The apparatus includes a color characteristic detecting assembly which is movable between an initial detecting position in which it detects a color characteristic of the textile material web shortly after the web has emerged from a dye liquor bath and a post-drying detecting position in which it detects a color characteristic of the textile material web after the web has been handled in a drying device. The post-drying detection of the textile material web enables the apparatus to detect an out-of-limits color characteristic situation which may not appear or be detectable until after the web has been subjected to the drying process. The color characteristic detecting assembly is connected to a control unit which controls the nip pressure of a pair of nip rollers which remove excess moisture from the textile material web.

  • Patent number: 5050258
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for controlling the distribution of color on a web of textile material in a textile dyeing process. The apparatus includes a color sensor for sensing a selected color characteristic of the textile web, such as, for example, the distribution of color, at a sensing location downstream of a nip device of a textile padding machine. The nip device removes excess dye liquor from the textile web to dispose the textile web at an initial moisture content as it exits the textile padding machine. The amount of the dye liquor removal through the nip operation is controlled in response to the color characteristic sensed by the color sensor so that the textile web is disposed at an initial moisture content upon exiting the textile padding machine which facilitates a desired color distribution when the textile web is subsequently dried.

  • Patent number: 4875942
Abstract: A method of cleaning residual dye material from rollers of a textile fabric drying oven during passage of a travelling cloth lead therethrough. The method involves applying a cleaning material to the travelling cloth lead in advance of the oven and rotating the rollers to be cleaned at a surface speed different from the surface speed of the cloth lead to cause a cleaning action of the cloth lead against the rollers. The change in roller speed can be accomplished progressively, either by acceleration or deceleration and can be accomplished on the rollers individually or in sets.

  • Patent number: 4860399
Abstract: Applying non-treating liquid to a traveling textile fabric substrate during temporary change-over discontinuance of treating liquor application in a textile treating and drying range with the non-treating liquid being applied in an amount sufficient to approximate the amount of treating liquor applied during normal operation of the range so as to allow the dryer to continue operating at substantially normal operating temperatures without damage to the fabric substrate. A non-treating liquid applicator is shifted between an inoperative position out of the path of the textile fabric substrate into an operative position in engagement with the substrate. The applicator includes a roller for arcuate engagement with the substrate and to which liquid is applied by spray and is uniformly distributed by a squeeze roll acting on a cover on the roller of material capable of retaining and transferring liquid onto the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4644601
Abstract: Applying evaporable finishing substances such as high-refinement media, dyes and optical brighteners, by evaporating the finishing substance and transferring to the textile material in the vapor phase via a line system. Smudging or smearing and re-evaporation of the vapor-deposited material in a continuously operating finishing system is avoided according to the invention by heating the textile material prior to the vapor deposition to a treatment temperature above the evaporation temperature and by using a finishing substance with a dew point in the finishing substance/transport mixture below the treatment temperature of the textile material.
