  • Patent number: 5345602
Abstract: A VHF radio receiver intended for mobile use, e.g. in a car, features inputs from multiple antennas. Each antenna signal is mixed with a locally-generated oscillator signal; the resulting mixed signals are added, with controllable phase position, to form a summation signal. Alternate frequencies, as defined by the Radio Data System (RDS) international standard, are stored. At periodic time intervals, momentary switchover is made to alternate frequencies to measure their reception quality and to store this parameter. Whenever the originally-tuned frequency provides inadequate reception quality, a control circuit 19 switches over to the best of the alternate frequencies, so quickly that the changeover is almost imperceptible to the listener.

  • Patent number: 5345604
Abstract: A modularly-designed FM vehicle radio for operation in connection with a plurality of antennas is disclosed, where the summing circuit consists of a series connection of the secondary coils of the output transformers of the input stages.

  • Patent number: 4939791
Abstract: To increase the fidelity of radio reception in a moving receiver, for example a car radio, the signals received from various antennas on the radio are mixed with a carrier in the receiver, and the resulting mixed signals, directly and 90.degree. phase-shifted, are added to a summing signal, in which, additionally, the phase positions of the direct and 90.degree. phase-shifted signals are changed in dependence on the phase difference between the respective intermediate frequency mixed signal and the overall summed signal in a direction to maximize the summed signal (u.sub.s).

  • Patent number: 4705243
Abstract: To supply the implement, mostly a welding tool, of a manipulator (1), with energy, the invention, instead of running the supply lines in the known manner from a fixed point in a large, freely suspended loop directly to the tool, provides an external suspension of a line bundle (10) along the constructional assemblies of the manipulator. In accordance with the invention, this line bundle (10) is held in place and guided in tubular casings (13) which are disposed at the individual assemblies (3-5) of the manipulator (1), with inserts (19) being provided in these casings (13) for receiving and holding lines of unequal size (parallel with each other) which are adapted to the various functions of the manipulator and can quickly be exchanged.

  • Patent number: 4648784
Abstract: An improvement of a device for protecting manipulators against collision with other objects. Two discs are held in spaced relationship by spacer balls applied thereagainst on the periphery. The discs are urged toward each other and the gap is adjustable. If due to a collision, the position of the spacer balls is changed, the discs move toward each other, thereby causing actuation of a switch and a disconnection of the drive.

  • Patent number: 4247955
Abstract: In a circuit which matches the speaker input signal in a car radio to the then-present noise level, an additional RC circuit is interconnected between the speaker input terminal and the input of the volume control element. Sudden increases in the speaker input voltage following a modulation pause which cause a high increase in the gain of the volume control circuit will counteract this gain, thereby preventing the excessive increase in speaker sound output following such a modulation pause which took place in the known circuits. Zener diodes to limit the voltage at the volume control elements in dependence upon the battery output voltage and to a value such that the output stage driving the speaker will not be overdriven are also provided.

  • Patent number: 3950749
Abstract: 1. A doppler frequency impulse radar system, comprising a transmitting circuit for transmitting an impulse modulated carrier wave and a receiving circuit for receiving reflected echo impulses, said transmitting circuit including means for transmitting a first pulse sequence and means for transmitting a second pulse sequence having identical period durations, means for effecting a time displacement between the transmission of the respective pulse sequences which displacement is so selected that periodically recurring gaps appear in the spectral line spectrum of the transmitted signals, and doppler frequency filters operatively disposed in the signal path of the receiving circuit having a pass range corresponding to at least one of said gaps and having a pass width which is somewhat smaller than the width of a gap.
