A device for fitting and preparing a large number of flat cleaning mops consists of a storage container, which has a removal opening for removing mops, and is provided inside with a feeding device for prior saturating the removed mops with cleaning solution.

The waste receptacle (1) is suspended from a supporting frame (3) by way of a swivel bearing (22) so as to swivel around a horizontal axis (5), and the collection vehicle (2) includes a catch basin (13) into which the waste receptacle is emptied when it is swiveled out of its upright position, when the collection vehicle drives past said receptacle and guides the catch basin under the waste receptacle. An adjustable vacuum element or an adjustable strip-like member can be connected to at least one adjustable floor scrubbing element. The strip-like member follows the movements of the adjustable scrubbing element. The adjustable vacuum element and/or the adjustable strip-like member is connected to a vacuum device whose working width will be adapted automatically to the working width of the floor scrubbing device.

Abstract: A sweeping unit for a sweeping machine to clean a floor area, has a driven pair of closed loop sweeping belts for engaging the floor, the driven sweeping belts including a first portion fixed in position relative to a mounting platform and a second movable portion. First rollers constrain the first portions of the driven sweeping belts relative to the mounting platform, and second guide rollers, which are movable relative to the mounting platform, constrain the second portions of the belts, respectively. The width of the floor area that is swept when the sweeping machine moves in a working direction, is variable as the second guide rollers are moved manually or automatically. The sweeping unit may be combined with a scrubber device having similar width adjustment features.
