The skirt comprises a pair of release tabs diametrically opposite from one another. Each of the pair of release tabs are defined by a first cut and a second cut within the skirt which separates the release tab from the remainder of the skirt. Each of the release tabs is hingedly connected to the base. Each of the pair of the release tabs extend upwardly from the base, opposite the skirt. Each release tab further comprises a latching protrusion extending radially inward from an inner surface of the release tab towards a central axis of the lid.

The curled outer edge extends inward of and above a top edge of the container, such that the top edge of the container and the outer edge of the lid may support a second container stacked upon the first container. The internal lip extends inwardly from the upward region of the annular wall such that it provides a surface for fingers to grab and aid in the removal of the lid from the container.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved scooping and measuring device that not only allows a user to scoop product out of a lipped container when there is ample product in the container, but also advantageously includes at least one protruding feature that allows a user to access remaining product that is typically trapped between the inner wall of the container and the container lip when the container is inverted. The protruding features of the scooping device allow a user to tip the container upside down and remove the otherwise trapped product by fitting the protruding features between the container inner wall and the container lip.
