    Abstract: In a magnetron comprising a cathode electrode, an anode cylinder including a plurality of vanes disposed about the cathode electrode for defining an interaction space, and a pair of permanent magnets contained in the anode cylinder for producing magnetic field in the interaction space, one permanent magnet is magnetized in the radial direction whereas the other is magnetized in the axial direction whereby the magnetic field distribution in the interaction space is made uniform.
