    Abstract: The invention relates to fibrous friction material and to a process for the production of same. In accordance with the invention, said material comprises carbon fabric, a polymeric thermosetting binder, viz. polyoxyphenylmethanephenoxysiloxane of the formula[-Si {OC.sub.6 H.sub.4 (CH.sub.2 C.sub.6 H.sub.3 OH).sub.n CH.sub.2 C.sub.6 H.sub.4 OH}.sub.2 -].sub.m,wheren = 0-2;m = 10-100,As well as hexamethylenetetramine and barium sulfate, said components being taken in the following percentages by weight:Binder -- 20 to 40Hexamethylenetetramine -- 1 to 2.5Barium sulfate -- 15 to 30Carbon fabric -- the balance.The proposed process for the production of the fibrous friction material of this invention comprises impregnating carbon fabric with a solution of said polymeric binder in an organic solvent, said solution also comprising hexamethylenetetramine and barium sulfate.     Abstract: A textile size containing the following components, parts by weight:1. An oligomeric acrylic acid with a molecular weight within the range of from 3,000 to 30,000: 3.0-15.0;2. Siloxanolates of alkali metals of the formula: ##EQU1## WHEREIN R is an alkyl group, Me is an alkali metal, n is an integer of from 3 to 10: 0.01-0.7.This composition ensures good adhesion of the oligomeric acrylic acid to synthetic, and particularly to polyamide, filaments.This composition may incorporate 0.01 to 0.3 parts by weight of potassium-phosphorylated polyglycol ether of higher aliphatic alcohol of the formula: RO(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n POOK, wherein R is an alkyl group containing 8-10 carbon atoms, and n = 5-6. This component, when present in the size, improves the antistatic properties of yarns.A method of sizing textile yarns comprises treatment of said yarns with a 3-15% aqueous solution of the size of the above composition.

    Abstract: Cyclolinear polyorganosiloxanes are proposed having the formula[XC.sub.6 H.sub.4 SiO.sub.1.5 ].sub.nWhere X is F, Cl or Br and n is from 2 .times. 10 to 2 .times. 10.sup.4 and the method for preparing them, that consists in hydrolytic polycondensation of the starting phenyltrichlorosilane halide in an organic solvent immiscible with water at temperatures from 5.degree. to 40.degree.C; water is then separated and the solution of the reaction products in the organic solvent is washed with water to neutral reaction and polymerized in the presence of a nucleophilic catalyst utilized in an amount of from 0.002 to 0.25 per cent by weight, at temperatures from 80.degree. to 250.degree.C, with subsequent isolation of the end product. X may be in ortho, metal or para position, or mixed isomers may be used.
