  • Patent number: 11959433
Abstract: At least one server comprising at least one processor coupled to at least one memory storing instructions. The server can receive a first signal from a first monitored system comprising an internal combustion engine and a first sensor, the first signal associated with a first occurrence of an internal combustion engine event, a second occurrence of the internal combustion engine event, and first measurement data of the first sensor. The server can determine a first measurement from the first measurement data. The server can determine a second measurement from the first measurement data. The server can determine a measurement deviation between the first measurement and the second measurement. The server can compare the measurement deviation to a stored measurement threshold. The server can determine a first exhibited useful life of the first sensor based on the measurement deviation and at least one of the first measurement or the second measurement.

  • Patent number: 10697344
Abstract: An aftertreatment system comprises a housing defining an internal volume. A filter is disposed in the housing and configured to remove particulate matter included in the exhaust gas. A delta pressure sensor configured to measure an inlet apparent pressure value upstream of the filter. An ambient pressure sensor separate from the delta pressure sensor is configured to measure an ambient pressure value of an ambient environment in which the aftertreatment system is located. A controller is configured to receive the inlet apparent pressure value, receive the ambient pressure value from the ambient pressure sensor, determine a relative inlet exhaust pressure value based upon the inlet apparent pressure value and the ambient pressure value, and adjust an exhaust flow rate of the exhaust gas based at least on the relative inlet exhaust pressure value.

  • Patent number: 9926827
Abstract: An aftertreatment system comprises an exhaust reductant storage tank and a SCR system including a catalyst fluidly coupled thereto. The aftertreatment system also includes a controller configured to interpret an output signal indicative of a catalytic efficiency of the catalyst. The output signal is filtered using a fast filter to obtain a fast filter response signal, and also using a slow filter to obtain a slow filter response signal. It is determined if the fast filter response signal exceeds a first threshold and if the slow filter response signal exceeds a second threshold. In response to determining that the fast filter response signal exceeds the first threshold, and the slow filter signal response exceeds the second threshold, an indication is provided that an improper exhaust reductant is present in the storage tank.

  • Patent number: 8528319
Abstract: According to one embodiment, described herein is an apparatus for mitigating on-board diagnostic (OBD) faults generated by an OBD system of an internal combustion engine (ICE) system having a selective catalytic reduction system with a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) decomposition tube. The apparatus includes a fault mitigation module that is configured to monitor at least one OBD signal of the OBD system and issue a request for regenerating the DEF decomposition tube when a value of the at least one OBD signal reaches a predetermined regeneration threshold corresponding with the at least one OBD signal. The regeneration threshold is reachable prior to an OBD fault threshold corresponding with the at least one OBD signal. The apparatus also includes a regeneration module that is configured to regenerate the DEF decomposition tube according to the issued request.
