Patent number: 12071553Abstract: This invention relates to a white inkjet ink composition having improved compatibility of functional polymer-stabilized titanium dioxide with binder resins, resulting in significantly slowing down the sedimentation rate, resisting clogging nozzles upon jetting, and enhancing the lightness of the ink coating. The white inkjet ink composition comprises a white colorant; one or more binder resins; one or more compatibilizers; an ink solvent; and optionally one or more additives. The white colorant is modified with a functional copolymer comprising an acid group, such as such as styrene-maleic anhydride, to form a modified white colorant. The presence of the one or more compatibilizers significantly improve the compatibility of the modified white colorant, such as styrene-maleic anhydride stabilized titanium dioxide, with the one or more binder resins.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2021Date of Patent: August 27, 2024Assignee: Inner Mongolia Xianhong Science Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kwan Yeung Chiu, Kin Man Ho, Chun Ho Yam, Siu Sun Chan, Kwai Sang Ng

Publication number: 20230332006Abstract: This invention relates to a method of making white hollow composite particles by one-step Pickering mini-emulsion polymerization and their application in making white inkjet ink compositions. Each of the particles comprises white inorganic particles; a crosslinked polymer shell; and a hollow core inside the crosslinked polymer shell, and wherein the inorganic particles adhere on the surface of the crosslinked polymer shell. The hollow composite particles have an average diameter ranging from 200 to 1,000 nm and a high degree of whiteness. Furthermore, the structure of the particles remains intact even after they are subjected to repeated centrifugation, decantation, shearing or a combination thereof, which makes them suitable for inkjet ink application.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2023Publication date: October 19, 2023Applicant: Inner Mongolia Xianhong Science Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kwan Yeung CHIU, Kin Man HO, Siu Sun CHAN, Kwai Sang NG, Liangdong LIU, To NGAI

Patent number: 10570301Abstract: Provided herein is an inkjet ink composition comprising an ink solvent, a binder, an additive, and a colorant comprising superparamagnetic or/and paramagnetic surface-modified iron oxide or/and iron hydroxide nanoparticles, wherein the nanoparticles are coated with a layer of silica-based coating or/and a layer of functional polymer. The superparamagnetic property of the nanoparticles ensures no magnetic attraction between the nanoparticles at room temperature, and good dispersion stability in the inkjet ink composition. The inkjet ink composition disclosed herein has excellent printing stability in terms of no flocculation and clogging of nozzle during inkjet printing and shows comparable printing stability with non-pigment ink. Printing on nonporous substrates with the inkjet ink composition disclosed herein has excellent transfer resistance. The inkjet ink composition disclosed herein allows color tuning of the ink through controlling the crystal structures of the nanoparticles.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2017Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Assignee: INNER MONGOLIA XIANHONG SCIENCE CO., LTD.Inventors: Pei Li, Kin Man Ho, Chun Ho Yam, Siu Sun Chan, Kwai Sang Ng

Patent number: 9260617Abstract: Provided herein is an inkjet ink composition for printing irremovable color trace marks on polymer substrates. The composition disclosed herein comprises a surface colorant, a hydrophobic colorant capable of staining the polymer substrates disclosed herein, a hydrophobic colorant carrier which provides good solubility for the hydrophobic colorant, a binder and an ink solvent system. Printing with the composition disclosed herein on multilayered plastic packaging provides a double layered print. The surface colorants can be removed by an organic solvent, while the hydrophobic colorant can stain the nonporous substrates, giving a watermark of the surface print or an inner layer trace marks, which are highly resistance against chemical and physical stress. The composition disclosed herein also allows color tuning of the trace marks. Attempt to remove the printed information by any physical or chemical means will leave irremovable color trace marks, thus allowing consumers to detect tampered goods.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2014Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: INNER MONGOLIA XIANHONG SCIENCE CO. Publication number: 20140218452Abstract: An inkjet printing system for printing permanent marks on a variety of nonporous substrate surfaces is provided. The system involves three components: 1) An inkjet printer; 2) An adaptable inkjet ink for the inkjet printer, and 3) A heating element. The present system can instantly produce permanent marks on nonporous surfaces after inkjet printing. The resulting permanent marks are impervious to chemical and physical removal, thus prohibiting fraudsters to tamper packaging information.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2014Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: Hallyuen Holdings Ltd.Inventors: Pei LI, Kin Man HO, Chun Ho YAM, Siu Sun CHAN, Kwai Sang NG
