  • Patent number: 6755898
Abstract: An apparatus for supplying an oxygen-enriched air includes hollow membrane units spaced apart from each other, for separating a surrounding air thereof into an oxygen-enriched air and a nitrogen-enriched air, a vacuum pump for sucking in the surrounding air via the separation membrane units to draw in and provide the oxygen-enriched air, and an oxygen-enriched air discharging unit for discharging the oxygen-enriched air. Each of the hollow separation membrane units is of generally a thin cuboidal shape, and the vacuum pump and the oxygen-enriched air discharging unit communicate with each other.

  • Patent number: 6035670
Abstract: A compressed water generation apparatus of clothes washer comprises a hollow body, a piston housed in the hollow body, a valve for allowing the water through an inlet opening formed at an upper portion of the hollow body in response to a movement of the piston, and a flexible band connecting to the housing by one end thereof and to the piston by another end thereof, for expanding volume of space created between the inlet opening of the hollow body and the piston in respect to the movement of the water basket, thus drawing in the water of the water basket, compressing the water, and discharging the pressurized water toward the clothes basket.

  • Patent number: 5943885
Abstract: A spin tub, which is installed in a washing machine, includes a washing ring and a ring guide for guiding the washing ring to be rotated along an inner sidewall of the spin tub, an engaging means for fixing the ring guide on an inner sidewall of the spin tub, and an assembling means for assembling the washing ring and the pulsator in order to provide a rotation force of the pulsator to the washing ring. The ring guide is inclined with respect to the spin axis of the spin tub, whereby when the washing ring is rotated by the pulsator, the water ring impacts on the laundry upwardly elevated along the inner side wall of the spin tub.

  • Patent number: 5918486
Abstract: A washing machine having an apparatus for generating a turbulent flow. The washing machine has a cabinet, an outer tub installed in the cabinet to receive a washing water, a spin tub mounted in the outer tub to receive articles, an apparatus installed at a lower portion of the spin tub to upwardly impel the washing water, a pulsator to guide the washing water impelled by the apparatus into a center portion of the spin tub and to generate a swirling flow in the spin tub, a motor and a power transmission to drive the apparatus and pulsator. The apparatus has a porous cap member to allow the washing water to flow thereinto and an impeller to upwardly impel the washing water flown thereinto. The washing machine can impel the washing water toward an upper portion of the spin tub while a washing operation is being carried out so that the apparatus generates a complicated turbulent flow in the spin tub, thereby improving a washing efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5715708
Abstract: A washing machine is disclosed which is equipped with a washing tub having a plurality of cylindrical side walls. The washing machine has a pulsator reception part, a washing tub body and a plurality of annular flat bases. The pulsator reception part has an opening in the bottom center portion thereof and rotatably receives the pulsator. The washing tub body is formed on the pulsator reception part and has a plurality of cylindrical side walls which are progressively reduced in diameters from the lower portion to the upper portion thereof. The plurality of annular flat bases each have a plurality of holes and connect the lower end of one of the plurality of cylindrical side walls with the upper end of another one of the plurality of cylindrical side walls.
