Abstract: A hinge apparatus for a portable terminal including a first housing, and a second housing rotatably connected to the first housing, includes a first connection terminal mounted on the first housing; a second connection terminal mounted on the second housing; and a connection member straightly reciprocating between the first and second connection terminals while the second housing rotates with an electric connection with the second connection terminal, wherein the connection member makes contact with the first connection terminal when the second housing is folded to the first housing with facing the first housing, and the connection member also moves in a direction of being spaced apart from and withdrawing from the first connection terminal when the second housing rotates in a direction of withdrawing from the first housing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a portable terminal with locking release device that includes a cover removably mounted on a side of a terminal housing; a first locking release having a button mounted in the terminal housing in such a manner as to be capable of linearly moving; and a second locking release having a rotary member mounted in the terminal housing and rotating as the button linearly moves, wherein the rotary member is rotated when the cover is mounted on the terminal housing, thereby linearly moving the cover. The portable terminal with the locking release device allows a battery cover to be easily mounted on or removed from a battery cover on a slim terminal, thereby stabilizing the battery mounting structure and enhancing the convenience in use.

Abstract: A mobile terminal has a decoration cover that may be used as an input key. The mobile phone includes an opening formed on a lateral side of a main body of the mobile phone. A switch contact member is provided on the rear surface of the decoration cover. The switch contact member is inserted into the opening and moves with the pressing of the decoration cover to actuate a tact switch mounted in the main body. A rotation support member is provided on the rear surface of the decoration cover and inserted into the opening to support the decoration cover and the switch contact member, which rotatably move upon pressing.

Abstract: A sliding module for a portable terminal which has a first housing and a second housing sliding on the first housing is disclosed, the sliding module slidably coupling the first and second housings. The sliding module includes a sliding plate mounted on a surface of the first housing; at least one guide rod mounted on a surface of the second housing and slidably coupled to the sliding plate, the guide rod being extended in the longitudinal direction of the second housing; at least one first guide rib formed on the sliding plate; and at least one second guide rib formed on the surface of the second housing, wherein the second guide rib is slidably engaged with the first guide rib, and maintains at least partial engagement with the first guide rib within a sliding range of the second housing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a detachable battery pack case locking apparatus of a portable terminal. The case is mounted to the lower case frame of a body, and the apparatus includes locker housings provided on both side surfaces of the lower case frame, locker assemblies engaged with the locker housings, for restricting or releasing the case of the battery pack by pressing the locker assemblies in both directions to slide the locker assemblies and thus attach or detach locking members formed in the case of the battery pack, and resilient members providing resilient forces so that the locker assemblies are slid.

Abstract: A speaker-up type portable terminal provides ease of use. The speaker-up type portable terminal includes a phone body having a display unit mounted at a predetermined location thereof and a plurality of keys disposed adjacent to the display unit, a cover coupled to the phone body by a hinge unit which rotates to go away from or come towards the phone body while the cover faces the phone body, and closing or opening the display unit, a hinge axis running across an upper end of the phone body, a first speaker mounted on a top surface of the cover, and a second speaker mounted on a bottom surface of the cover and disposed adjacent to the first speaker.
