    Abstract: A memory system is provided and includes memory chips in each of which a first state output pin is arranged and a memory controller in which a first state input pin connected to a first channel including first ways respectively connected to the first state output pins arranged in the memory chips is arranged. The memory controller checks a first internal state of each of the memory chips, based on one or more of a chip enable signal and a CE reduction command of the memory chips, and a second signal received through the first state input pin as a result of an AND operation of first signals output through the first state output pins, during a state check interval for checking respective states of the memory chips.

The image display device includes a panel provided with address electrodes and data electrodes, a scaler for converting an input image signal to fit into a resolution of the panel, an address driver and a data driver for driving the address electrodes and the data electrodes, respectively, in response to an image signal from the scaler, and a luminance control unit for comparing line by line changes of the image signal outputted from the scaler, changing luminance of the image signal outputted from the scaler, and changing the number of operations of the address driver. Such an image display device decreases a parasitic capacitance in an address driver for driving a PDP, to thereby prevent the address driver from being overloaded.

In the resetting step, a first voltage is applied between the scan electrodes and the address electrodes to accumulate wall charges in the respective pixel by a facing discharge, and the wall-charges accumulated by the facing discharge are removed. In the addressing step, a second voltage is applied between a corresponding scan electrodes and selected address electrodes so that a facing discharge occurs, to form wall-charges in the selected pixels. In the sustained discharging step, a third alternating-current voltage is applied between the scan electrodes and the common electrodes so that a surface discharge occurs in the selected pixels.
