Abstract: A host device, a point of deployment (POD), and a method for recognizing an operation mode are disclosed. The host device interfaces with a point of deployment (POD), and checks an operation mode of the POD. The interface unit includes CD1#, CD2#, VS1#, VS2#, VPP1, VPP2, and ISIO16# ports. The controller detects Card Information Structure (CIS) information from the POD if each of the VS1# and VS2# ports is set to ‘Logic Low’, and determines whether the POD supports an Internet Protocol (IP) Card S-Mode on the basis of the detected CIS information.

Abstract: An improved reception system and a method of processing interface information are diclosed. The reception system includes a host and a card which can be detachably coupled to the host. The card makes a request for digital input/output interface status information to the host using a diagnostic function. The host collects the requested digital input/output interface status information and transmits the collected digital input/output interface status information to the card.

The present invention includes a storage unit for storing E-EDID including information indicating whether the media sink device supports CEC, an interface unit corresponding to a data transceiving path between the media source device and the media sink device, and a control unit connected to the media source device to send the E-EDID including the CEC support information to the connected media source device via the interface unit.

Abstract: A Media sink device and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. A Media sink device for receiving media data from at least two media source devices includes: at least two interfaces for receiving the media data from the at least two media source devices; and a controller for determining a selected media source device, receiving a predetermined voltage signal having a predetermined voltage value from the interface connected to the determined media source device, outputting a high-level signal to a selected interface, and outputting a low-level signal to the remaining interface other than the selected interface, thereby controlling a connection of the at least two media source devices.
