The apparatus includes: at least one display; a processor electrically connected to the display; and a memory, wherein the memory includes instructions for allowing an electronic device to display at least a part of contents on the display, to execute at least one item, which is related to the content and configured to be displayed in a first area of the contents, and to display the at least one executed item in a second area different from the first area of the display or display information for receiving or guiding a user input to display the at least one item when the instructions are executed.

A processor is configured to receive a first message from at least one external device via the communication circuit. The processor is configured to provide at least one notification, in a first mode via at least one user interface, in response to the reception of the first message. The processor is configured to detect the presence of at least one event related to the electronic device or the user of the electronic device. The processor is configured to receive a second message from at least one external device via the communication circuit. The processor is configured to provide at least one notification, in a second mode based on the received second message and at least one detected event, or in a first mode after a selected period of time has elapsed.
