Abstract: An enlargement display method of a target area of an image forming apparatus which comprises a touch screen includes selecting a target zooming function to zoom at least one menu displayed on the touch screen as a target screen to perform at least one of functions of the image forming apparatus, enlarging and displaying at least one menu corresponding to the target area according to the selection, selecting at least one of navigation buttons to move the target area, and moving and displaying the enlarged target area through the selected navigation button. With this, the image forming apparatus and the enlargement display method enlarge and display the necessary menu as the target area and the target area is moved through the navigation button to thereby improve a user's convenience.

Abstract: Disclosed are an image forming apparatus and a menu select and display method thereof. A select and display method of a menu which is displayed on a (touch) screen of an image forming apparatus, the method includes: displaying an initial screen including at least one menu list to perform at least one of functions of the image forming apparatus; selecting one of the displayed menu lists by touch; and displaying in the selected menu area a first subordinate menu corresponding to the menu area to set an option for the selected menu without converting the remaining menus. With this, an image forming apparatus and a menu select and display method thereof selectively converts a selected menu area only and displays a subordinate menu to set an option for the menu to thereby reduce a load arising from the conversion and returning of the overall screen and reduces user's inconvenience.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus which adds an identifier to at least one file includes a display panel unit to display at least one file having an identifier to distinguish the at least one file from at least one general file, and a control unit to display the at least one file having the identifier distinctly from the at least one general file on the display panel unit. Accordingly, the user can retrieve a desired file more rapidly, increasing user convenience.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus through which a user inputs characters using a rotatable search wheel. The image forming apparatus includes a display unit to display a character set in order to input characters, a search wheel, which is able to rotate, to search for characters to be input from the displayed character set while being rotated, an input button to select the characters searched by the search wheel and to input the selected characters, and a control unit to display on the display unit characters selected from the displayed character set according to a rotation direction of the search wheel. Therefore, it is possible to input characters more conveniently and rapidly.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus to provide a visual feedback in response to a manipulation of a navigation key includes a display panel unit, a navigation which is selectable and rotatable, to perform a menu navigation over the display panel unit according to at least one of a selection and a rotation thereof, a state indicating unit to operate in a display pattern to correspond to a manipulation state of the navigation key, and a control unit to control the state indicating unit according to the manipulation state of the navigation key. Abstract: An image management method and apparatus for retrieving images stored in a storage medium by using a plurality of time maps and displaying the retrieved images are provided to allow a user to conveniently and quickly retrieve images. An upper map is displayed with time intervals that are expressed on the upper map and divided into first time units, images corresponding to a point in time in which a key is positioned on the map is retrieved, and the retrieved images are displayed. A lower map is displayed with time intervals that are expressed on the lower map and divided into second time units, images corresponding to a point in time in which a key is positioned on the map are retrieved, and the retrieved images are displayed. If a user input for any one of the time intervals expressed on the upper map or lower map is received, candidate images corresponding to the input time interval are retrieved and the retrieved images are displayed.
