  • Patent number: 7428228
Abstract: A method and apparatus in a UE for detecting active channelization codes including channelization codes used by other UEs, which are different from at least one channelization code assigned to the UE, for transmission/reception to/from a Node B in an assigned time slot in a mobile communication system, where each of time slots of a radio channel frame is identified by a plurality of code channels, each having a unique channelization code. Accordingly, a channelization code set is formed to include a predetermined number of channelization codes to be searched, code channel data corresponding to the channelization codes is detected from a received signal, the code power of the code channel data is measured and compared with a predetermined threshold, and channelization codes having code power values exceeding the threshold are selected as active channelization codes.

  • Patent number: 7366117
Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing a DL-DPCH in an NB-TDD system. Two time slots at the same position in two subframes forming one radio frame are allocated as a DPCH for two UEs. A Node B arranges data and control information for the UEs in the two time slots and transmits the data and control information to the UEs. The UEs extract the data and control information from the two time slots and acquire the data and control information destined for the individual UEs.

  • Publication number: 20080013634
Abstract: An apparatus and method for high-speed interfacing between ICs are provided. A generator generates space clock pulses by adjusting a data rate of data. An inserter inserts commas during the space clock pulses. And a transmitter transmits bit streams with the data and the commas to a receiving IC. Accordingly, data can be transmitted and received at high rates between ICs.

  • Patent number: 7203512
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining soft handover in a CDMA mobile communication system supporting Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) is provided. In the asynchronous CDMA mobile communication system supporting MBMS, when a UE moves to a region where it can receive data from a plurality of Node Bs, the UE determines whether to perform soft combining using a measurement value of a dedicated pilot channel signal, in performing soft handover. In this way, the UE can determine whether to perform soft combining on MBMS data received from a plurality of Node Bs by itself. Therefore, even though an MBMS user moves from a current or existing cell to a new cell, a stable MBMS service is provided to the user, thereby contributing to the user's convenience.

  • Publication number: 20050259006
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for simply estimating joint channel and Direction-of-Arrival (DOA) to efficiently estimate a channel impulse response associated with a spatially selective transmission channel occurring in a mobile radio channel, and performing efficient beam forming using the simplified joint channel and DOA estimation are provided. A receiver estimates the total interference power using power for each interference signal, estimates a spectral noise density, calculates steering vectors considering predetermined DOAs, and jointly calculates optimal weight vectors for each DOA of each user by applying the interference power and the spectral noise density to the steering vectors. The beam forming reduces implementation complexity of a TDD system such as a TD-SCDMA and increases beam forming efficiency in a mobile environment by efficiently using spatial diversity.

  • Publication number: 20050220042
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting scheduling grant information by a TFCI in Node B controlled scheduling of uplink packet transmission. In one embodiment, a scheduling command resulting from Node B controlled scheduling is mapped onto a TFCI and transmitted on the downlink. In another embodiment, an ACK/NACK signal determining retransmission of uplink packet data is mapped onto a TFCI and transmitted on the downlink.
