  • Patent number: 4796370
Abstract: The relatively large size seven-segmented numerical display module consists of six peripheral segments having the same shape and size. Each segment is operated by a transmission mechanical gear assembly and a low voltage direct current motor. Only a low energy solar cell and/or battery is required to operate all the segments so as to provide a selected numerical display.

  • Patent number: 4665321
Abstract: The control system is for automatic operation of vehicle lights. It has two distinct switching points corresponding to two predetermined ambient light levels. The first switching point is for turning on the vehicle lights such as after dusk. The second switching point is for turning off the vehicle lights such as after sun rise. The system is free of the chattering problem in common automatic light controls and it is not affected by slight variations in the ambient light condition. It is simple in structure and can be quickly and easily installed in a vehicle. The system includes a timer to delay its actuation momentarily when it is first energized so as to allow full current from the battery to be used for starting the engine. It also includes a temperature compensation to allow for ambient temperature variations.

  • Patent number: 4558529
Abstract: A display element comprises a stator housing with a front aperture and a rotor electromagnetically rotatable to assume three or four rotary positions. At each rotary position a different area of the rotor is seen through the aperture. Two or three of the areas of the rotor are translucent. Apertures in the stator housing and registering apertures in the rotor allow the translucent areas to be illuminated by lighting placed to the rear of the stator housing.

  • Patent number: 4531318
Abstract: A thin disk contrastingly colored on opposite sides is rotatably mounted to rotate about its diameter. A permanent magnet on the disk allows the disk to be driven by a pair of reversibly magnetizable cores. One of the cores is bent to provide a stop which limits the rotation of the disk in either direction. The two limiting positions correspond to the display of the contrastingly colored sides in the viewing direction.
