    Abstract: In one embodiment, a depassivating circuit includes a battery, a resistive load coupled to the battery, and a magnetic field sensor. The magnetic field sensor detects a presence of a magnetic field. The magnetic field sensor depassivates the battery by causing current from the battery to flow through the resistive load, in response to the presence of the magnetic field. The magnetic field sensor detects removal of the magnetic field. The magnetic field sensor ends depassivation of the battery, in response to the removal of the magnetic field.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for applying Electric Network Frequency (ENF) forensic techniques to determine characteristics associated with an audio and/or video recording such as when and where the recording was made. In one embodiment, a system that determines at least one of a time and a location associated with a recording includes an ENF forensic database, an ENF extraction processing module and a comparison processing module. The ENF forensic database stores powerline data collected from at least one electrical power grid. The ENF extraction processing module extracts ENF content coupled into the recording. The comparison processing module compares the extracted ENF content with powerline data retrieved from the ENF forensic database and outputs information including one or more of a time during which the recording was made and a location where the recording was made based on the comparison with the powerline data.

In accordance with the present invention, server-side SSL functions are performed by a network device located remotely from a secure data center, while maintaining the secure use of centralized certificates and their associated private keys. The invention may be employed in conjunction with acceleration functions operating within coordinated network devices, facilitating acceleration of overall SSL traffic. The invention improves on the prior art by allowing the remotely located acceleration device to use the certificate and private key of the target application server, but without compromising the security of the server's private key.
