    Abstract: A method for printing electronic components is based on the hybridization of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and laser sintering. The method involves printing a layer of composite copper-based thermoplastic filament on a base. Then the filament is subjected to a laser beam so as to selectively remove the polymer matrix in a restricted area after printing to leave only the conductive particles forming a highly conductive network and sintering the conductive particles with the laser energy to reveal the conductive copper. Then, alternately repeating the printing and sintering steps on the filaments one on top of the other until a complete component of arbitrary geometry, including both insulative and conductive structures, is formed layer-by-layer.

    Abstract: Apparatus and techniques described herein can be used to provide a bipolar battery plate with lower resistance as compared to other approaches. In an example, a bipolar plate comprises a conductive current collector substrate with lead-containing surfaces on both sides, onto which active materials are applied. Interfaces with low contact resistance can be created between the active materials and the current collector substrate by a combination of mechanical, thermochemical, and electrochemical techniques. Specifically, the present subject matter can include a bipolar plate fabricated by applying “wet,” (e.g., uncured) active materials to the current collector, and performing a curing procedure such that a corrosion layer with low contact resistance is formed between the active materials and the underlying surfaces of the current collector.

The DNA probe can be replaced to test whether different nucleic acid segments exist.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules and a preparation process and use thereof. The present invention develops through encapsulation technology a novel type of lightweight particles, namely, inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules comprising expanded perlite as a core material and a cementitious material as a shell material, forming a core-shell structure in which a perlite core is encapsulated in a cementitious shell. The cementitious material including cement and fly ash is coated onto the surface of expanded perlite particles through an encapsulation process by a pelletizer under controlled water spraying. The resulting inorganic pelletized perlitic lightweight granules are lower in cost and easier to produce, and have better fire resistance, higher crushing strength, and better compatibility with concrete.
