  • Publication number: 20160208570
Abstract: A hydraulic fracturing assembly includes a frac tree that mounts to a wellhead. An injection tee mounts to the tree, the injection tee having an axial injection tee bore that registers with an axial flow bore of the frac tree. A single inlet passage in the injection tee extends from a flowline mounting face on an exterior portion of the injection tee downward and inward into a junction with the axial flow bore. A wear resistant inlet passage sleeve extends from the mounting face of the injection tee a selected distance into the inlet passage. The inlet passage sleeve is of a harder material than the injection tee. A flowline connects to the mounting face to deliver fluid into the inlet passage. The flowline has an upward curved section and an inclined section that joins the curved section and extends downward and outward away from the injection tee.

  • Patent number: 9103183
Abstract: A ball launcher for dispatching balls into a wellbore that includes a manifold for selective attachment to a wellhead assembly and a magazine mounted on the manifold in which the balls are stored for distribution to the manifold. Chambers are provided in a cylinder in the magazine, so that by rotating the cylinder the chambers register with a bore in the manifold, through which the balls are delivered to the wellbore. Flowing a flushing fluid into the bore in the manifold urges the balls downward. An auxiliary line through the manifold provides a conduit for the flushing fluid into the bore.

  • Patent number: 8919453
Abstract: A landing ring having at least one scallop groove formed on an interior of the ring. The landing ring interfaces with a fluted mandrel casing hanger such that the scallop groove aligns between flutes of the hanger. This alignment of the scallop groove of the landing ring with the fluted mandrel casing hanger provides sufficient clearance to allow a stabbing in of a cement tube for cement injection during cement topping operations or debris clean out down hole.

Date of Patent: December 30, 2014

  • Patent number: 7823634
Abstract: An isolation sleeve extends from an adapter into the bore of a tubing head to isolate high pressure frac fluid from the body of the tubing head. The isolation sleeve may be moved into and out of the bore by a hydraulic transfer piston or it may be installed and retrieved by a running tool. The isolation sleeve has a seal carrier on its lower end. The seal of the seal carrier may seal to a secondary packoff in the tubing head, on the outer diameter of the conduit, or to the rim of the conduit. The seal carrier may be movable relative to the sleeve to energize the seal.

  • Publication number: 20070062693
Abstract: A coal bed methane degassing tool is installed at the bottom of a first joint of production casing. As the casing is lowered into the well hole, the tool is fished to the top of the casing as more joints are added. The pressure at the tool may be recorded and logged. Any excessive pressure observed at the tool may be bled off by the tool automatically or manually. As more casing is tripped in, the tool is brought to the top. At the end of the run a log of formation pressure is established. Reservoir engineers can determine reserves in coal bed methane wells drilled and completed before the well is bled off and the tool is removed.

  • Patent number: 6736208
Abstract: In an integral production pumping tree, the bottom connection, blow-out preventer, flow tee and top connection are positioned to one side, with the vertical rod bore off-center. Up to three vertical ports are provided in the other side of the tree, for providing access to the production casing bore for an electric heating string, an instrumentation string and a small diameter injection tubing string. The ports accommodate sealed connection assemblies, from which the strings extend. The upper portion of the other side of the tree is cut away to create space for introducing the connecting assemblies. The tubing hanger is provided with matching bores.
