  • Patent number: 7406325
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of allocating links in a base station of a 1×EVDO (EVolution Data Only) system. Conventionally, since a 1×EVDO system sequentially allocates a link to a user who requested a call setup irrespective of the link status, some of the allocated links may suffer from overload that eventually decreases the data transmission rate for the user. However, in order to perform the link allocation in due consideration of the link status, the present invention uses a link database including various status information, such as an equipment confirmation flag, a block flag, a current status, the total call user number, and the current call user number. With the status information, a base station control processor (BCP) in the 1×EVDO system of the present invention distributes traffic loads among the links and ensures an optimized data transmission rate.

  • Patent number: 6965587
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for operating a CDMA channel in a base transceiver station (BTS). The method for operating the CDMA channel in the BTS includes variably generating a CDMA channel list message transmitted from the BTS to a mobile station (MS) in a CDMA mobile communication system according to the BTS and a frequency allocation (FA) within the BTS, so as to variably operate the CDMA channel by the BTS and the FA. The method according to an embodiment of the present invention also includes variably allocating a CDMA frequency number group by the BTS and the FA in accordance with a CDMA channel index, a CDMA channel ID, and a CDMA channel kind, so that the CDMA channel is operated between BTSs and further by the FA, independently, thereby optimizing the CDMA frequency operation between the BTS and the MS.

  • Patent number: 6584315
Abstract: A method of allocating frame offset and link in a base station in which performance of digital telecommunications system is enhanced by allocating a resource in such a manner that loads of the link and frame offset are dispersed when communication channels for use of handoff are allocated, and soft handoff can be occurred when the frame offset is allocated, has an advantage in that the link and frame offset are dynamically allocated when requesting handoff so that loads can be evenly distributed between the link and the frame offset. Thus, data loss between the communication channel and the control station may be minimized, and the mobile station may timely perform handoff, thus enabling a stable call handling service.

  • Patent number: 6542737
Abstract: There is provided a method for checking a speech channel of a base station and a vocoder of a control station in a mobile communication system, in which its operation station designates specific multiple vocoder of the control station and specific multiple speech channels of the base station to establish a call, to check if the vocoders and speech channels are poor, and when they are confirmed to be poor the operation station does not allow call services through the poor vocoder and speech channel, thereby continuously maintaining high quality call services.

  • Patent number: 6473620
Abstract: A method for tracing a call establishing message between a specific mobile station and a specific channel element or between the specific channel element and a specific vocoder in a code division multiple access mobile communication system. A base station control processor receives information of a mobile station or channel element to be traced and the type of the call establishing message to be traced, from an operator. When the specific mobile station sends a call establishing request, the processor determines whether the specific mobile station is the mobile station to be traced. The processor sends a traffic channel establishing message to the specific channel element if the specific mobile station is the mobile station to be traced. Alternatively, the processor sends the traffic channel establishing message to the specific channel element if the specific channel element is the channel element to be traced.
