Abstract: A backlight assembly and a display device including the backlight assembly are provided for one or more embodiments, where the display device is slim, lightweight, and requires low manufacturing costs because the device integrates a receiving container and a light generating unit cover member. According to an embodiment, the backlight assembly includes a first light generating unit, a wire electrically connected to the first light generating unit, a first fixing member including a groove to fix the first light generating unit and a wire outlet, and a receiving container comprising a light generating unit cover member. The first fixing member includes a protruding portion extending outwardly from the receiving container and the wire outlet formed on the protruding portion.

Abstract: A backlight unit includes a light source, an optical member for adjusting a traveling path of light exiting from the light source, a frame accommodating and fixing the optical member and including a plane portion, a sidewall portion vertically extending from the plane portion and at least one frame fastening portion downwardly extending from the sidewall portion and a lower receiving member for accommodating and fixing the frame. The lower receiving member includes a bottom portion having at least one hole formed therein to be fastened to the frame fastening portion and a side surface portion upwardly extending from edges of the bottom portion.

Abstract: Provided is a focus servo process automatic selecting method. In a related art optical pickup apparatus, only one of AD and DAD is selected and used when a focus servo is performed for disk detection and a focus-on operation. According to the method, servo crosstalk values of the two focus servo processes are compared and a suitable focus servo process is automatically selected, so that an optimum focus servo is realized.

Abstract: A direct current plasma display device (PDP) includes two plates and a plurality of parallel anodes and parallel cathodes arranged on an inner surface of two plates, respectively. Grooves of a predetermined depth are provided on the rear plate and metallic cathodes are formed on the bottom surfaces of the grooves. This cathode structure results in a PDP having a low discharge maintaining voltage and a high cathode current density.
