  • Publication number: 20230112985
Abstract: An oxygen concentration system may comprise a pressure sensor, a movement sensor, and a controller configured to use one or more pressure signals obtained from the pressure sensor and a movement signal obtained from the movement sensor to determine when to release a bolus of oxygen enriched air. In some implementations, the controller may adjust a trigger threshold based on an initial pressure signal obtained from the pressure sensor and the movement signal obtained from the movement sensor. In some implementations, the controller may adjust a pressure signal obtained from the pressure sensor based on the movement signal obtained from the movement sensor. In some implementations, the controller may detect a potential onset of inhalation from a pressure signal obtained from the pressure sensor and determine whether to verify the potential onset of inhalation based on the movement signal obtained from the movement sensor.

  • Publication number: 20230112963
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing the power consumption of an oxygen concentrator are disclosed. An oxygen concentration system may comprise a compression system, a canister system, one or more processors, and at least one of a pressure sensor or a movement sensor. The one or more processors may be configured to transition the oxygen concentration system to at least one of a prescribed mode of operation or a standby mode of operation. The timing of the transition may be based on at least one of a number of breaths detected from the pressure signals generated by the pressure sensor or an estimated energy content of the movement signal generated by the movement sensor. A predetermined volume or concentration of oxygen enriched air may be supplied to a user during the prescribed mode of operation. A reduced power may be provided to the compression system during the standby mode of operation.

  • Publication number: 20230088367
Abstract: An oxygen concentrator may have a compressor to feed a feed gas for sieve bed(s) via a first manifold, an accumulator to receive enriched air from the bed(s) via a second manifold. It may include an outer housing for the manifolds, the compressor, and the accumulator. The housing may include an access portal to a compartment therein, for removably receiving the bed(s) as a canister assembly. The first manifold may be adjacent to the compartment and have inlet coupling(s) for removably coupling respectively with inlet(s) of the canister assembly. The inlet coupling(s) may each have a first central axis. The second manifold may be adjacent to the compartment and have outlet coupling(s) for removably coupling respectively with outlet(s) of the canister assembly. The outlet coupling(s) may each having a second central axis. The first and second central axes may form any one of an obtuse, acute, or right angle.

Abstract: A scanner assembly includes an automatic document feeder and a first scanner. The automatic document feeder defines a media pathway that includes an input portion and an output portion having an exit roller. The first scanner is positioned along the media pathway upstream from the exit roller. In a first assembled configuration, the assembly is configured to scan both a first side and a second side of the media via the first scanner. In a second assembled configuration, the assembly additionally includes a second scanner positioned along the output portion and interposed between the first scanner and the exit roller. In the second configuration, the assembly is configured to scan the first side of media via the first scanner and to scan the second side of media via the second scanner.

  • Patent number: 8613440
Abstract: An automatic document feeding device including a pick motor coupled with a pick assembly, a deskew motor coupled with a deskew assembly, a sensor assembly coupled with a main media path and the deskew motor, and a feed motor coupled with a feed assembly. The deskew motor drives the deskew assembly, the deskew assembly deskewing the media sheet and moving the media sheet from the pick assembly to the feed assembly, the deskew assembly moving independently of the pick assembly and the feed assembly. The sensor assembly includes a plurality of sensors. The sensor assembly senses the media sheet moving along the main media path and sends at least one signal to a computer. The computer, based on the at least one signal, sends, an activation signal to at least one of the pick, deskew and feed motors and the first scanner.

  • Patent number: 8544840
Abstract: An automatic document feeder with a drive system that can efficiently handle double-side scanning and accommodate more than one timing sequence for sequentially picking individual sheets from a stack using only two motors—a pick motor and a media motor. The automatic document feeder includes a pickup unit with a pick roller, a set of de-skew rollers, a main media path configured to guide a media sheet from the pickup unit to a scanning region and from the scanning region to an output tray, and a switch-back path configured to guide the media sheet back into the main media path. The drive system is operable to provide a high-speed picking mode and a delayed picking mode. In the high-speed picking mode, the pickup unit is driven by the pick motor to pull a subsequent media sheet from a stack of media sheet as soon as a previously pulled media sheet has passed the pick roller.

  • Publication number: 20080265485
Abstract: A sheet discharge roller assembly for a sheet feeding apparatus includes an upper cylindrical exit roller mounted on a rotatable drive shaft and a lower cylindrical pinch roller having a wheel attached to one end. The pinch roller has a length that is longer than the length of the exit roller and is moveable into contact with the exit roller so as to form a nip for gripping a print media to be discharged. The wheel has a diameter that is larger than that of the pinch roller and an outer circumferential edge composed of a plurality of protruding contact portions arranged in a radial pattern. The wheel is positioned so that the wheel can contact the media sheet being gripped and cause the sheet to deform temporarily, thereby making the sheet more rigid.
