The tip has a plurality of notches formed its forwardly facing ogival surface; each notch having a forward end adjacent the forward end of the tip, and a rear end rearward of the rearwardly facing shoulder and the front end of the jacket, so that material from the target can enter the jacket and help open the jacket and release the core.
