  • Publication number: 20250193979
Abstract: Thermal barrier assemblies are provided for inhibiting the transfer of thermal energy inside a traction battery pack. An exemplary thermal barrier assembly may include a structural barrier flanked by a pair of thermal resistance material layers. The structural barrier and the thermal resistance material layers may each include a non-uniform thickness. The structural barrier may include a reduced thickness at its respective outboard edges, and the thermal resistance layers may each include an increased thickness at their respective outboard edges. Providing a greater amount of thermal resistance material near the outboard edges of battery cells can help slow or even eliminate the transfer of thermal energy across a cell stack of the traction battery pack during a thermal event.

  • Publication number: 20250096395
Abstract: A traction battery assembly includes an enclosure assembly having an interior area, and a pressure relief device having a valve member movable from a closed position to an unlocked-release position, and movable from the unlocked-release position to a locked-release position. The valve member in the closed position blocks flow through the pressure relief device from the interior area. The valve member in the unlocked-release position permits flow from the interior area. The valve member in the locked-release position permits flow from the interior area. A ratchet mechanism that holds the valve member in the locked-release position.

  • Publication number: 20250015376
Abstract: Resealable guide tubes are provided for use within traction battery packs. One or more resealable guide tubes may be arranged such that a first portion of each guide tube extends inside an enclosure assembly of the traction battery pack and a second portion of each guide tube extends outside of the enclosure assembly. Each guide tube may be sized and shaped for guiding a measurement probe of a testing device directly to a high voltage measuring point located inside the traction battery pack. The testing device may then be utilized to measure one or more electrical properties associated with the traction battery pack.

  • Patent number: 10500977
Abstract: A vehicle charging includes a housing, a sensor system configured to detect if a vehicle is parked near the housing, and a notification system configured to communicate an alert if the vehicle is parked near the housing and charging has not been initiated within a threshold amount of time. The alert indicates improper usage of the vehicle charging station to an operator of the vehicle.
