Abstract: One variation of a method includes: compiling a corpus of historical biometric data into a set of historical biometric data containers; at a subdermal sensor unit associated with a cow, capturing a set of biometric data and transmitting the set of biometric data to a superficial tag arranged proximal the subdermal sensor unit; at the superficial tag, transmitting the first set of biometric data to an access point accessible by a remote computer system; representing the set of biometric data in a biometric data container; based on proximity of the biometric data container to a cluster of historical biometric data containers, calculating a similarity score between the biometric data container and the cluster of historical biometric data containers; and, in response to the similarity score exceeding a threshold similarity score, mapping a state, associated with historical biometric data containers in the cluster of historical biometric data containers, to the cow.
