  • Patent number: 9482455
Abstract: A system comprising a gear having at least one slot, wherein the gear is connected to an icetray and a motor so that when the motor rotates the gear, the icetray twists, and an optical sensor that detects when the gear has rotated the slot over the optical sensor. The icetray twists while the gear is rotated in a first direction away from a home position to a reverse twist position. The rotation of gear then reverses to twist the icetray to a harvest position in a second direction that is opposite of the first direction until ice in the icetray is dislodged.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 9, 2015
Date of Patent: November 1, 2016
    Assignee: ENVOLVE ENGINEERING, LLC
Inventors: Gregory Gene Hortin, Kyle Carter Edmondson, Patrick J. Boarman, Michael Edward Stagg, Li Yi Situ

  • Publication number: 20150010709
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention relates to a method of fabricating a low friction, wear resistant, polydopamine/polytetrafluoroethylene layered film. In one embodiment, the method comprises the deposition of a polydopamine film on a stainless steel substrate through an oxidative polymerization process, the deposition of a polytetrafluoroethylene nanoparticle film on top of the polydopamine film, and heat treating the layered film to remove moisture and fuse the particles together.
