Additionally, the device (10) can include a riser (14) coupled to, and in fluid communication with, the lateral fluid transfer conduit (12). The riser (14) can be vertically compactable by at least 20% while maintaining structural integrity when the lateral fluid transfer conduit lowers as the supporting particles (16) pack to a second density, which is higher than the first density.
