  • Publication number: 20240382806
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of analyzing an athletic motion by an individual. The method is executed by a motion monitoring system having at least one computer and one or more sensors for sensing movement of the individual. The method involves categorizing the individual into a category of a plurality of possible categories based on a physical attribute (e.g. body mass) of the individual. The method also involves generating, for each speed metric generated based on captured sensor data, an indication of relative performance (e.g. percentile ranking) of the speed metric in relation to only other individuals who also belong to the category of the individual. By comparing the individual to only other individuals who also belong to the category of the individual, the relative performance of each speed metric can provide a solid foundation for identifying which speed metric could use improvement. Also disclosed is a motion monitoring system.

  • Patent number: 8449133
Abstract: The present application is directed to a method for providing reflective and/or lighted capability about the torso of a wearer, said method comprising providing it least one reflective and/or lighted strap, draping said strap about said torso, adjusting said strap via a mechanism that keeps said strap relatively taut about torso such that when said wearer is engaged in movement, said straps remain in place on said torso without substantial impediment to said wearer engaging in an activity.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5130792
Abstract: A system and method for transferring video programs from a first location to a remote location provides for communication of the programs over selected commercial telephone networks. The program signals are digitized, compressed, and stored at the first location, and transferred to the remote location on request of a viewer. Due to the compression of the program, the time required for electronically transferring the program to the remote location is much less than the viewing time for such program. The compressed program is reconstructed at the remote location for viewing on available video display devices.
