  • Publication number: 20170041413
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing anticipatory push search for a homescreen browser of a mobile device is described. The method may include collecting profile data indicative of behavior of a user with respect to usage of a mobile device and constructing a user profile for an anticipated usage of the mobile device by the user. Furthermore, the method may include publishing a content search request based on the anticipated usage of the mobile device by the user, and receiving at least one content response from a content provider. The method may also include providing content from the content response to the mobile device based on the anticipated usage of the mobile device by the user, the content for populating an anticipatory homescreen browser displayed by the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20160054471
Abstract: A compactor gathers GPS, orientation and wheel slip data to identify the location of a soft spot in a surface that is being compacted and to isolate the soft spot to a particular side of the compactor if the wheel slip data indicates that the soft spot is located beneath only one of the compactor wheels. The GPS, orientation and wheel slip data are displayed as location information to an operator and/or sent to a remote location to facilitate the fast and accurate repair of the soft spot.

  • Patent number: 9239358
Abstract: A multi-path receiver for automated test equipment. The multi-path receiver includes an input for receiving low-power signals and high-power signals. The high-power signals have signal amplitude higher than the low-power signals. The multi-path receiver further comprises an output for outputting a received signal, a first path for transmitting a received high-power signal from the input to the output and a second path for transmitting a received low-power signal from the input to the output. The second path comprises an amplifier. A first switch is provided for switching a received high-power signal to the first path and for switching a received low-power signal to the second path. A high-power amplifier is also connected between the input and the first switch for amplifying the received signal independent of its input power before it is switched with the first path or the second path.

  • Patent number: 9168836
Abstract: A non-traction battery controller, and applications thereof. In an embodiment, the non-traction battery controller includes a main processor, a battery management module, a vehicle communication module, and a charge control module. During operation, when the vehicle communication module signals the processor that an engine of a vehicle is operating and the battery management module signals the processor that a connected battery has a value less than a first control value, a computer program code stored in a memory coupled to the processor causes the processor to signal the charge control module to charge the connected battery. When the vehicle communication module signals the processor that the vehicle engine is operating and the battery management module signals the processor that the connected battery has a value between first and second control value, the computer program code causes the processor to signal the charge control module to selectively charge the connected battery.

  • Patent number: 9139965
Abstract: A system and method for calibrating a compactor. The compactor may have a roller. The system may comprise a display and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive, when the roller rotates in a first direction, a first baseline compaction value, receive, when the roller rotates in a second direction, a second baseline compaction value, calculate an offset between the first and second baseline compaction values, receive a subsequent compaction value obtained while the roller is rotating in the second direction, adjust the subsequent compaction value by the offset difference, and display an adjusted subsequent compaction value on the display.

  • Patent number: 8816260
Abstract: Embodiments of a flight-control system and methods of reducing the probability of a roll-control reversal in a canard-controlled flight vehicle are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the flight-control system may monitor angular velocities of the flight vehicle to detect the onset of instability and adaptively control an acceleration limit of the flight vehicle based on the detected instability to reduce the probability of a roll-control reversal. The onset of instability may be detected by persistently high angular velocities. The acceleration limit may be further adaptively controlled based on an approach of a vehicle trim limit.

  • Publication number: 20140019336
Abstract: Methods and apparatus according to the invention are directed towards providing electronic queuing of execution of financial services by a customer of a financial institution prior to the services being performed. Queuing may shift planning of and preparation for execution of the services, away from a time and/or a site of service-execution. Through queuing, the customer may securely produce, access and modify actionable electronic listings of services and of details of service-execution. The customer may securely activate the listings for the performance of service-executions via the institution's associates and/or machines. Queuing may expedite service-execution. The methods and apparatus may also provide for collaboration among customers in producing, accessing, modifying and activating listings.

  • Publication number: 20120305663
Abstract: Non-wood-timber (NWT) railroad ties such as concrete remove cushion and pressure wave attenuation provided by wood timber railroad ties. I provide methods to reintroduce cushion and wave attenuation by means of adding an elastomeric sole. To further increase wave attenuation a layer of ground automobile tire is placed between the hardpan and ballast. Also, reclaimed asphalt is an inexpensive means to create hardpan that reduces railroad tie pumping.
