  • Publication number: 20210227782
Abstract: A system and method for feeding hogs in a hog confinement and cleaning said system, which includes overhead feed distribution pipe, with a boot situated to receive feed from the overhead feed distribution pipe, and a downspout which directs feed to a feeder. A two-piece connector between the boot and the downspout is provided to allow for quick and easy detachment of the downspout from the boot. One embodiment of the two-piece connector is a hinged connector which, when open, goes around an exterior of an exit port of the boot and around an input end of the downspout. When hinged connector is closed, it retains the downspout to the boot. A latch may be used to keep the hinged connector closed. In another embodiment, a top connector is coupled to the exit port of boot, in a well known manner such as screws, and a bottom connector is connected to an input end of the downspout in a similar manner.

  • Publication number: 20180135407
Abstract: A position determination system and a method for position detection within a wellbore are disclosed. A radioactive tag may be disposed within the wellbore. One or more scintillating optical fibers may be longitudinally disposed along a drill string, wireline, or the like, and run into the wellbore. A detector system is coupled to the optical fiber(s). A scintillating optical fiber emits short, bright flashes of visible light whenever exposed to the gamma radiation. When a scintillating flash is measured, it may be determined that the optical fiber is located within proximity to the radioactive tag. The amplitude of received pulses may be used to estimate where in the optical fiber scintillating events are occurring. By providing a second optical fiber coupled to a scintillating optical fiber, a time delay between received pulses may be used to indicate where along the scintillating optical fiber scintillation events are occurring.

  • Publication number: 20180026575
Abstract: A fixture may be installed on a mounting surface such as a roof of a structure. The fixture may be coupled to round elongated components such as wires, cables, conduits, pipes, or tubes that need to be transitioned from the exterior of the structure on top of the mounting surface to the interior of the structure below the mounting surface by passing through the mounting surface. To prevent moisture such as precipitation from penetrating the mounting surface, a mounting surface transition may be used to transition the round elongated components through the mounting surface. The transition may include compression fittings to establish a moisture barrier around the round elongated components.
