Abstract: Systems and methods of associating components of a surgical instrument for navigation-assisted surgery, and controlling the surgical instruments. A first association is generated between the end effector and the navigation array from an input based on an arrangement of tracking elements of the navigation array, and an identification signal. A second association is generated between a power source and the navigation array from a battery signal wirelessly transmitted from the power source that is indicative of current being drawn on the power source. The power source may be controlled based on a position and/or an orientation of the end effector and a pose of a patient tracker. Should the position of the end effector cross a predefined virtual boundary, a control signal wirelessly transmitted to the power source may alter the current being supplied to a motor. An inertial sensor may provide a movement signal used for generating an association.

Abstract: A peelable paint composition includes a release agent having a component selected from the group consisting of soy lecithin, a polysiloxane, silicone polyether, and combinations thereof. The peelable paint composition further includes a film-forming resin that includes a component selected from the group consisting of natural rubber, styrene-butadiene copolymer, polyvinyl butyral, a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, vinyl acrylic copolymer that includes styrene, acrylic styrene copolymer, and combinations thereof. The peelable paint composition can further include a number of optional additives. Water makes up the balance of the paint composition.

Abstract: Systems and methods for mapping trip trajectories include identifying one or more vehicle trips (e.g., aircraft flights). One or more trajectory configurations associated with at least a portion of each vehicle trip can be identified, and location data associated with the one or more vehicle trips can be requested. Trip trajectory data based at least in part from the location data associated with the one or more vehicle trips and the one or more trajectory configurations associated with at least a portion of each vehicle trip can be generated. The trip trajectory data can be provided for display on a map of a geographic area including one or more locations defined by the location data associated with the one or more vehicle trips.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for adjusting a fastener setting tool, the method comprising: measuring a first parameter associated with a first characteristic of the fastener setting tool; comparing the first parameter to a predetermined parameter, wherein the difference between the first parameter and the predetermined parameter represents a condition of the fastener setting tool; calculating an adjustment based on the comparison, wherein the adjustment is to the first characteristic of the fastener setting tool and/or to a second characteristic of the fastener setting tool, the adjustment configured to compensate for the condition of the tool; and applying said adjustment to the fastener setting tool.

In some illustrative embodiments, a drive train that features at least one multi-part sectional flex joint may allow for a shortened flex shaft while sufficiently converting eccentric forces from the power source to rotation of the mandrel.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to compositions which may undergo thermolysis to produce a higher purity acrylic acid product. In preferred embodiments of the present invention, the compositions comprise polypropiolactone and one or more active salts. The one or more active salts may catalyze thermolysis of the polypropiolactone so that the polymer depolymerizes into acrylic acid monomers. Certain concentrations of the one or more active salts result in higher purity acrylic acid products of thermolysis. In certain preferred embodiments, the one or more active salts include an acrylate group which may decompose under thermolysis to provide acrylic acid and thus decrease the concentration of undesirable contaminants in the acrylic acid product. In certain preferred embodiment, the one or more active salts comprise sodium acrylate.

Abstract: An adjustable wheelchair headrest system to provide wheelchair users with the ability to control their headrest without assistance form another individual. Some wheelchair users are unable to adjust their headrests without assistance, and as a result, have no control over their head and neck positioning throughout the day. The system provides wheelchair users with a multi-directional adjustable headrest that may be controlled through a mobile device. The system includes a universal mounting system and manually adjustable starting positions for each linear translation and rotational assembly, which allows the system to easily mount to any existing wheelchair. The system enables users to adjust their headrest to suit any situation (driving, watching a movie, eating, etc.). Wheelchair reliant individuals can now enjoy day-to-day comfort, control their own upper body posture, and perform additional tasks without assistance.

Abstract: Reactor systems and processes produce organic acids through thermolysis of polylactones. The reactor systems and processes introduce at least one epoxide reagent and carbon monoxide reagent to at least one reaction vessel through at least one feed stream inlet. The epoxide reagent and carbon monoxide reagent contact at least one carbonylation catalyst to produce at least one beta-lactone intermediate. The beta-lactone intermediate is polymerized with at least one initiator in the presence of a metal cation to produce at least one polylactone product. The polylactone product is heated under thermolysis conditions to produce at least one organic acid product. The processes control the presence of contaminates, impurities, catalytic materials, and/or reagents to provide for highly pure organic acid products.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a graphical interface and scheduling administrative rounds are presented. The graphical interface may present to an administrator a prioritized list of care providers based on care provider performance, care provider satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and labor data associated with the care provider. A schedule of administrative rounds to counsel the care provider may be presented to the administrator and may be based on the prioritized list, administrator and patient location, and administrator and patient schedule.
