  • Publication number: 20170089717
Abstract: A mobile computing device is described that provides navigational guidance with lane-level granularity. The mobile computing device may be configured to measure and transmit its respective traffic data, which may include an indication of a vehicle road lane in which a vehicle is currently travelling, the speed of the vehicle driving in this road lane, and/or an indication of how long it takes for the vehicle to pass through various intersections in various lanes. The traffic data may be transmitted from several mobile computing devices to a traffic aggregation service, which may calculate an average vehicle speed and average intersection timing on a per-road lane basis. The traffic service may broadcast the averaged data to one or more mobile computing devices configured to receive this information. The mobile computing devices may use the averaged data to optimize routing and/or to improve the accuracy in which route driving times are calculated.

  • Publication number: 20160364621
Abstract: Various embodiments are disclosed describing implementations of a navigational device with an integrated camera, which may record live video. A driving recorder is described that may store the live video data upon detection of a triggering event. A lane departure notification system is also described that determines whether a vehicle has crossed a road lane line, and cartographic data used by the navigational system may be leveraged such that the alert is issued when the vehicle is crossing into oncoming traffic but otherwise is suppressed. A collision notification system is also described, which identifies a vehicle by applying separate classification algorithms to the live video data based upon whether the video is recorded during the daytime or nighttime, and calculates a following distance. The navigational device may issue an alert when the following distance is below a recommended following distance threshold.

  • Patent number: 8601164
Abstract: Techniques for HTTP header compression are described herein. In an implementation, an electronic device may be configured to enable compression/decompression of HTTP messages, including compression/decompression of information in the headers of the messages. A HTTP message is generated that contains at least a header and a body. The HTTP message is reformatted to place at least some of the header information into the body. Then, the body of the reformatted message having the header information is compressed to form a compressed HTTP message. Decompression may be applied by a recipient of the compressed HTTP message to reconstruct the original HTTP message.
