  • Patent number: 5857730
Abstract: A low visibility interior armor construction for a door of an automotive icle is removably installed in the vehicle without structural change to the vehicle. The construction has a door panel armor component facing an inboard side of the door and a compressible pad between the inboard side of the door and the armor component. The armor component has hooks by which it hangs on the door. The armor component is tightened to the door by tensionable straps connected between the door and the armor component. The construction also has a plate of window armor alongside the door's window frame and a transparent frame forms a channel about a periphery of the plate. The frame is comprised of continuous polygonal bands forming side walls of the channel. Beds of the channel are recessed between the polygonal bands such that the transparent frame defines a continuous surface facing outboard of the vehicle. A transparent flange connects the door armor component to the transparent frame.

  • Patent number: 5299653
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus having a work platform comprised of an expandingly extendable basket mounted on an underframe. The basket has a relatively mobile portion that translates out from the underframe and out from a relatively stationary portion of the basket fix to underframe. Mounted to the underframe are rollers engaging beams supporting the relatively mobile portion of the basket, the beams translating on the rollers when the basket expands. The basket is raised and lowered on pivot arms which are connected between the underframe and a base of the apparatus. The position and movement of the arms are controlled by a screw jack fixed to the work platform. An adjustable position stairway is connected between a second, fixed work platform and the first, expandable work platform.

  • Patent number: 5189854
Abstract: The invention is an adjustable height stairway having two parallel elongate ower frame members and two parallel elongate upper frame members swingable on a base. The upper frame members have wave-like edges that can fit with complimentary wave-like edges on the lower frame members. A set of steps parallel to the base has pivotal connections to each frame member at peaks of the wave-like edges. At a first angular position, the stairway is in a collapsed configuration wherein the pivotal connections are coplanar and the steps lie in a common plane to form a runway. In a second angular position the stairway is in an expanded configuration form a ladder or set of stairs.
