  • Patent number: 11278179
Abstract: A door assembly for an appliance includes an inner door panel and outer door panel that define an interior chamber for receiving at least a first light source and a second light source. An indicator lens extends from a split receiving surface facing the light sources to an indicator aperture defined in the outer door panel. The split receiving surface has a first surface for receiving light from the first light source and a second surface for receiving light from the second light source. In addition, an opaque partition is positioned between the first light source and the second light source for at least partially blocking light from first light source and the second light source from bleeding onto the second surface and the first surface, respectively.

  • Patent number: 11266291
Abstract: A dishwasher appliance includes a user interface panel positioned on a door at a top edge of the door. A circuit board is positioned within the door. A user touch input and a side-fire light emitting diode are mounted to the circuit board. A lightguide is positioned within the door. An inlet of the lightguide is positioned proximate the side-fire light emitting diode, and an outlet of the lightguide positioned below the circuit board. The side-fire light emitting diode is operable to emit light, and the lightguide is configured such that the light from the side-fire light emitting diode is reflected within the lightguide from the inlet of the lightguide to the outlet of the lightguide in order to illuminate an indicator at the outlet of the lightguide with the light from the side-fire light emitting diode.

Abstract: A dishwashing appliance, as provided herein, may include door having a frame, an opaque back panel, a light-guide panel, a light source, a transparent liquid crystal display, and an exterior panel. The frame may extend along a transverse direction between a rear internal end and a front external end. The opaque back panel may be mounted to the frame at the front external end. The light-guide panel may be attached to the frame forward from the opaque back panel. The light-guide panel may define a radial edge perpendicular to the transverse direction. The light source may be directed at the radial edge to project a light emission thereto. The transparent liquid crystal display panel may be attached to the frame forward from the light-guide panel. The exterior panel may be attached to the frame forward from the transparent liquid crystal display panel.

  • Patent number: 11039730
Abstract: A dishwashing appliance includes a cabinet and a tub in the cabinet. The tub defines a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing. A door is rotatably mounted to the cabinet for movement between a closed position wherein the wash chamber is sealingly enclosed and an open position permitting access to the wash chamber for loading and unloading of articles from the dishwashing appliance. The dishwashing appliance also includes a control console positioned on the door. The control console includes a console cover on an exterior surface of the door, a console bracket mounted within an interior of the door and proximate the console cover, and a circuit board attached to an interior surface of the console cover with a double-sided adhesive film. The double-sided adhesive film sealingly engages the console cover and the console bracket.

  • Publication number: 20210052130
Abstract: A dishwasher appliance having a console assembly equipped with light bleed prevention features is provided. In one aspect, the dishwasher includes a cabinet, a door rotatably mounted to the cabinet, and a console assembly mounted to the door. The console assembly includes a light source operable to emit light into a console cover. A light blocking film is mounted to a top surface of the console cover and defines a light pass-through opening through which light may pass to illuminate an indicia. The console cover includes one or more edges that may be exposed to an ambient environment. The console cover is formed at least in part of a non-clear resin such that light is allowed to travel through the console cover and through the light pass-through opening yet light bleed stemming from the one or more edges is not visible to a human eye.
