  • Publication number: 20230417962
Abstract: A system includes a surface relief grating configured to forwardly diffract an input beam as two linearly polarized beams. The system also includes a waveplate optically coupled with the surface relief grating and configured to convert the two linearly polarized beams into two circularly polarized beams having orthogonal circular polarizations. The two circularly polarized beams having orthogonal circular polarizations interfere with one another to generate a polarization interference pattern.

  • Patent number: 11815729
Abstract: A system includes a diffractive optical element configured to receive a first beam and a second beam interfering with one another to generate a first interference pattern. The diffractive optical element is also configured to forwardly diffract the first beam and the second beam to output a third beam and a fourth beam. The third beam and the fourth beam interfere with one another to generate a second interference pattern. The system also includes a detector configured to detect the second interference pattern.

  • Patent number: 11635807
Abstract: A retinal imaging system includes a projector, an imaging device, and a controller coupled to an eye tracking system under test. The projector emits a light pattern to be delivered to a pupil of an eye, a location of the pupil being estimated by the eye tracking system under test. The imaging device captures one or more images of a retina of the eye illuminated with at least a portion of the light pattern. The controller determines one or more eye tracking parameters based on the captured one or more images of the retina. The controller compares each determined eye tracking parameter with each of estimated one or more eye tracking parameters, wherein values for the one or more eye tracking parameters are estimated by the eye tracking system under test. The controller characterizes each estimated eye tracking parameter based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20220212059
Abstract: A method includes irradiating a layer of photosensitive material with a beam of light having a selected polarization orientation, and scanning the beam of light over an iso-phasic contour of a pattern to be formed in the layer of photosensitive material while maintaining the selected polarization orientation. A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a computer processor, a stream of sensory signals indicating user heart rate and/or respiration rate, accessing a workout script stored in memory, where the workout script has markup applied thereto that specifies one or more actions to be taken in response to the stream of sensory signals, determining, based on the received stream of sensory signals and the markup applied to the workout script, that the user heart rate and/or respiration rate falls outside a target zone, and adjusting content of the workout script in response to the determination.

  • Patent number: 10809537
Abstract: A waveguide display is used for presenting media to a user. The waveguide display, includes a light source, a projection assembly (PA), a source waveguide (SW), and an output waveguide (OW). The light source emits light, the PA reshapes the wavefront of the light and the SW receives the light from the PA, expands the light in a first dimension and outputs the expanded light. The SW has an adjustable curvature along the first dimension expanding the light with a curved wavefront. The OW receives the expanded light emitted from the SW, expands the expanded light in a second dimension orthogonal to the first dimension to form image light and outputs the image light. The wavefront curvature from the light source, the curvature of the OW along the second dimension and the curvature of the SW control a location of an image plane of the image light.

  • Patent number: 10569449
Abstract: A method for transferring a pattern from a template to a nanoimprint object. A perimeter portion of the nanoimprint object is supported by a perimeter support structure. A gas pressure induced force is applied to the nanoimprint object to facilitate bending of a central portion of the nanoimprint object in a direction toward a surface of the template until the central portion of the nanoimprint object is brought into contact with the surface of the template. While the nanoimprint object is held in contact with the surface of the template, the pattern from the template is transferred to a surface of the nanoimprint object thereby creating a patterned surface on the nanoimprint object.
