  • Publication number: 20240139870
Abstract: A laser crafting apparatus for directing electromagnetic radiation toward a workpiece may include various features. For example, the laser crafting apparatus may include a material support tray that is removably supported within an internal volume of the laser crafting apparatus. Further, the apparatus may include pre-filter disposed in a ventilation pathway between a workspace region of the internal volume and an extractor fan. The laser crafting apparatus may include a laser carriage assembly that houses a laser module and the assembly may include a lens tray detachably coupled to the support structure of the laser carriage assembly. In various embodiments, the laser crafting apparatus includes a lid having a radiation attenuation layer and a fire suppression layer.

  • Publication number: 20240075760
Abstract: A crafting apparatus (10) includes a working portion (22) and a base portion (20). The working portion (22) includes a lower surface (32) and an upper surface (34). The upper surface (34) defines a working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X-Y-Z). The base portion (20) includes a lower surface (24) and an upper surface (26). The lower surface (32) of the working portion (22) is disposed adjacent to the upper surface (26) of the base portion (20). The lower surface (24) defines a non-working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (XS-YS-ZS). The upper surface (34) of the working portion (22) extends relative to the lower surface (24) of the base portion (20) at an angle (?22) for angularly-offsetting the working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X-Y-Z) from the non-working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (XS-YS-ZS). Methods (200, 300) are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240051317
Abstract: A crafting apparatus support member (10, 100) is configured to support a crafting apparatus (300) and a lower surface (324) of the crafting apparatus includes one or more boss-receiving cavities (325). The crafting apparatus support member includes a substantially planar body portion (12, 112) and one or more crafting apparatus interface portions (36, 136). The substantially planar body portion includes an upper surface (14, 114), a lower surface (16, 116) and a side surface (18, 118) connecting the upper surface (14, 114) to the lower surface (16, 116). The one or more crafting apparatus interface portions include a boss portion (38, 138) extending from the upper surface of the substantially planar body portion that are configured to be interfaced with the one or more boss-receiving cavities.
