Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-aided method and system for creating an integrated interactive competencies-based personnel information system for personnel managers to use in recruitment and hiring, professional development and training and employee evaluation. The system generates a toolbox which consists of a job advertisement tool, a screening tool, an interview guide tool, a professional development tool, and an evaluation tool. All of these tools use information on the competencies required by position in a particular business establishment. The system also produces a hiring guide that takes users step-by-step through the recruitment and hiring process, including easy-to-follow directions and sample forms.

Abstract: A portable communication device is equipped with a level application to provide the device with a level sensing functionality. The level application and level sensing functionality is based on data related to the orientation and/or motion of the device. The level application and level sensing functionality allow the position of the communication device in multidimensional space to be ascertained relative to a reference plane, which allows a user to utilize the communication device as a level.

Abstract: A three-dimensional tilt ratchet mechanism that is able to rotate, pivot, and bend forwards or backwards with ease is provided. The mechanism includes a device for multi-dimensional movement and placement of a retractor blade which comprises a first member adapted to receive a stem of a retractor blade. The first member has a locking mechanism effective to enable selective lateral adjustment of the retractor blade relative to the first member. Also provided is a second member to which the first member is mated. The first member is vertically pivotable with respect to the second member to enable selective vertical pivoting adjustment of the retractor blade relative to the second member. A rotator indexing body is mated to the second member and is adapted to mount onto a rim of a surgical support.

Abstract: A composition and method for treating circulatory conditions by promoting systemic vascular relaxation and dilation. Exemplary circulatory conditions are disclosed and include wound healing and/or reduction of hypertension. The composition is a natural combination of L-arginine, ginseng and Zizyphi fructus in an orally or topically administered dosage. The combination works synergistically to synthesize NO and thereby promote systemic vascular relaxation and dilation. The mechanism works in the wound compartment to promote and sustain the wound healing process. Likewise, the combined constituents, when administered orally or topically in proper concentration, work to maintain a critical threshold level of NO in areas that cannot themselves produce it, thereby promoting systemic vascular relaxation and dilation in order to reduce hypertension.

The combination works synergistically to alleviate erectile dysfunction by stimulating enough release of NO in the corpus cavernosum to produce and sustain smooth muscle relaxation, thereby allowing the inflow of blood and alleviating erectile dysfunction. Thus, a natural medicinal alternative to Viagra.RTM. is provided for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The composition and method is also useful in treating sexual conditions in females.
